AVP, AI Product Owner

Overview

A leading specialty insurance and risk solutions organization is seeking an experienced AI Product Owner to drive the strategy, development, and delivery of AI-powered business solutions. This individual will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring AI initiatives align with organizational objectives and deliver measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines product ownership, business analysis, and insurance domain expertise with a strong understanding of AI, automation, and data-driven transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Own the full product lifecycle for AI-enabled solutions, from concept and business case development through implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement.
Partner with business leaders across operational functions to identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities for AI and intelligent automation.
Translate business objectives into product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery roadmaps.
Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and data science teams to deliver scalable AI-driven products and capabilities.
Lead backlog management, sprint planning, and prioritization activities within Agile delivery environments.
Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making through AI and automation.
Drive stakeholder engagement, change management, and user adoption efforts throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Define success metrics, monitor product performance, and continuously refine solutions based on business feedback and outcomes.
Ensure AI initiatives align with governance, compliance, security, and operational standards.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, Business Analysis, or similar roles.
Experience working within insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
Demonstrated experience supporting AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, or intelligent automation initiatives.
Strong requirements gathering, process mapping, workflow analysis, and documentation skills.
Experience working in Agile environments using Scrum, Kanban, or similar methodologies.
Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting enterprise AI platforms, copilots, or intelligent automation programs.
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, APIs, data pipelines, model lifecycle management, and enterprise data ecosystems.
Exposure to governance, compliance, risk management, and regulatory considerations related to AI solutions.
Experience leading digital transformation or innovation initiatives.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
