Role Overview
The Associate Vice President of Valuation will play a critical role within the Actuarial department, focusing on enhancing the reserving process, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and statutory reporting requirements, and implementing Principle-Based Reserves accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and report on reserve adequacy using statutory and GAAP guidelines.
- Develop financial reporting processes to enhance transparency and compliance.
- Implement Principle-Based Reserves methodologies to meet regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of actuarial practices with broader organizational goals.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on valuation findings and changes in regulatory frameworks.
- Mentor and lead a team of actuaries to promote continuous improvement and personal development.
