Job Summary:
Seeking a strategic leader to oversee actuarial operations and guide a team developing financial forecasts, budgets, and savings projections for provider partners in value-based care programs including ACO REACH, MSSP, and Medicare Advantage. This role partners across departments to enhance financial models, evaluate performance, and communicate insights that drive smarter decisions. Ideal for a data-driven leader passionate about improving healthcare through analytics and collaboration.
Job Responsibilities:

Take ownership of analyzing complex financial data and trends to answer business questions and track month-to-month financial performance.

Build and lead a team of skilled actuaries, providing mentorship, guidance, and structure to deliver precise and meaningful analytical insights.

Direct the creation of forecasting models and annual budgets for provider partners across key value-based programs such as ACO REACH, MSSP, and Medicare Advantage.

Work across departments – including finance, strategy, and clinical teams – to connect data insights with operational and strategic decisions.

Establish and refine actuarial frameworks and processes that increase accuracy, efficiency, and visibility into program performance.

Support the design of internal tools for trend monitoring, financial modeling, and value-based performance projections.

Present results and key takeaways to a range of stakeholders through clear storytelling, visuals, and professional presentations.

Develop and deliver impactful PowerPoint materials that distill data into actionable insights for leadership.

Keep up to date with industry shifts, regulations, and new actuarial practices to bring forward innovative ideas and maintain a competitive edge.

Carry out other duties and special projects as needed.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a closely related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.

Active actuarial credential (e.g., ASA or FSA) and current membership with the American Academy of Actuaries.

Minimum of 8 years of progressive actuarial experience, demonstrating increased responsibility over time.

At least 2 years of experience leading and developing a team of actuaries or analytical professionals.

Hands-on experience with Medicare Advantage bid preparation.

At least 2 years of experience in Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) or ACO REACH environments.

Strong analytical, quantitative, and modeling skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools.
