A respected organization within the insurance industry is seeking a dedicated Accounting Manager to support investment accounting activities tied to complex transactions, including reinsurance related structures. Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accounting and reporting for diversified investment activity associated with structured or reinsurance influenced transactions
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of investment data in alignment with applicable accounting standards
- Partner with internal finance, investment, and operational teams, as well as external service providers, to confirm data integrity and resolve issues
- Evaluate accounting processes, propose enhancements, and coordinate implementation with relevant stakeholders
- Contribute to the preparation of GAAP and Statutory financial reports, supporting both periodic close activities and technical analyses
- Maintain strong documentation practices and uphold internal control expectations across reporting processes
- Support audit efforts and respond to regulatory or contractual inquiries with well organized information
Core Competencies:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in investment accounting, insurance accounting, financial reporting, or similar technical finance roles
- Solid understanding of GAAP and Statutory accounting principles, along with relevant regulatory framework
- Familiarity with investment products, portfolio activity, and the accounting implications of complex financial structures
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical matters for varied audiences
- Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; advanced credentials are beneficial
