We are supporting a leading retailer on a major finance system and cloud transformation project. The team is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Consultant to support IFRS 16 impact assessment, consolidation logic automation, and UAT cycles before system go-live.
Role Responsibilities
Cloud Transformation & Logic Specification
- Support the implementation and rollout of cloud transformation initiatives.
- Interpret Consolidation Pack requirements and translate them into clear logic specifications for vendors to automate.
- Review vendor-built templates (100+ forms), verify logic and results, and provide correction instructions.
IFRS 16 Lease Accounting
- Conduct IFRS 16 lease impact assessment after the new system transformation.
- Analyse transition differences between legacy and new systems and assess P&L implications for a high-volume lease portfolio.
- Identify issues, propose solutions, and support the team in resolving accounting inconsistencies.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Perform UAT across multiple cycles, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and functional requirements.
- Validate results by comparing expected vs actual outputs, perform lookups, identify mismatches, and raise defects.
- Work closely with internal teams and external vendors during testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline; professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CPA) preferred
- Minimum 3 years of solid accounting or audit experience
- Knowledge of consolidation and IFRS 16 is a strong advantage
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis; comfortable handling large datasets
- Good understanding of system processes, automation logic, or finance transformation
- Mature, detail-oriented, logical and proactive; able to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong command of spoken and written English and Chinese
