Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file probate petitions and related documents for estate matters
- Manage Surrogate’s Court filings from inception through completion
- Marshal estate assets, including closing existing accounts and establishing estate accounts
- Prepare federal and state estate tax returns, including Form 706
- Draft judicial and non-judicial accountings for trusts and estates
- Coordinate with attorneys, financial institutions, and clients throughout the administration process
- Maintain accurate financial records using specialized accounting and tax software
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in trusts and estates administration
- Strong experience preparing Form 706 estate tax returns
- Working knowledge of probate and Surrogate’s Court procedures (New York experience preferred)
- Experience with estate and trust accounting
- Proficiency with one or more of the following:
- Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE 706
- GEMS 706
- LexisNexis NY Surrogate’s Court Forms
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and client service abilities
Compensation & Work Environment
- Salary up to $115,000, commensurate with experience
- Competitive benefits package
- Full-time, in-office position (5 days per week)
