A growing financial services organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Hartford finance team. The role will own key elements of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close while gaining exposure to broader finance initiatives.<\/p>\n

Core Responsibilities<\/h3>\n

  • Prepare GAAP journal entries, reconciliations and accounting analyses<\/li>\n
  • Own key components of the financial close<\/li>\n
  • Prepare financial and management reporting<\/li>\n
  • Investigate variances and resolve accounting issues<\/li>\n
  • Support internal and external audits<\/li>\n
  • Partner with Finance and business teams on projects<\/li>\n
  • Improve close processes, reporting and automation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • 4+ years of accounting \/ finance experience<\/li>\n
    • Strong US GAAP (accounting or Audit) and\/or financial close experience<\/li>\n
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field<\/li>\n
    • Strong Excel and analytical skills<\/li>\n
    • Detail-oriented, proactive and deadline-driven<\/li>\n
    • Strong communication skills<\/li>\n
    • Insurance, financial services or complex corporate accounting experience preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Contract<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We’re partnering with a leading Insurance organization that’s evolving its SMS and communications platform capability, and is looking for an experienced SMS Architect to bring clarity and direction to a complex, multi-domain transformation.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This isn’t a traditional architecture role. We’re looking for someone vendor-neutral who can step into cross-domain complexity, close out technical decisions that span multiple teams, and translate them into sequenced, value-led delivery, without stepping on Product’s or Engineering’s toes.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Working across 3-4 teams spanning Business, Technology, and third-party vendors, you’ll define target and transition architecture for the SMS stack, assess integration patterns, and advise on the build vs. buy vs. reuse decisions that will shape the platform’s future.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Key responsibilities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Defining target and transition architecture across the SMS\/communications stack, including delivery, short codes, templates, consent, retention and orchestration.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding how core platform components (e.g. DCP, EP, SLX, Chorus) and Line of Business systems fit together, and the cross-domain impacts of architectural change.<\/li>\n<li>Advising on build vs. buy vs. reuse decisions, with the judgment to know when each is the right call.<\/li>\n<li>Working across 3-4 teams to understand integration patterns and assess the implications of decisions across each.<\/li>\n<li>Closing cross-domain technical decisions and translating them into sequenced, value-led delivery work.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting vendor evaluation, ideally staying through the first end-to-end implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Advising on the operating model: vendor management, consent enforcement, records\/legal hold, incident ownership and LOB adoption.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We’re looking for someone with strong Enterprise Architecture experience within SMS\/communications platforms, and a clear understanding of transition architecture and how decisions in one domain (e.g. login\/authentication) ripple into others.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">You’ll be confident operating vendor-neutral, comfortable closing decisions across multiple stakeholder groups, and experienced enough to advise credibly on operating model considerations in a regulated environment. Experience:<\/strong> End-user devices, productivity, ServiceNow, Service Desk, and support engineering<\/li>\n<li><strong>Engineering & Operations:<\/strong> DevOps, CI\/CD, Incident Management, Release\/CAB, and Managed File Transfer (MFT)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">You will lead <strong>7 direct reports<\/strong> within a currently flat structure, bringing together Product Managers and Product Owners around a consistent product strategy and operating model.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Priorities<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">This role will play a central part in several major transformation initiatives, including:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li><strong>Data Centre transformation:<\/strong> Supporting the exit from physical data centres by 2028 while retaining mainframe capabilities and removing open systems<\/li>\n<li><strong>MSP transformation:<\/strong> Reimagining the managed service provider contract, relationship, and operating model<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cloud transformation:<\/strong> Developing and embedding a mature Cloud operating model alongside a robust FinOps capability<\/li>\n<li><strong>Employee Experience:<\/strong> Continuing the transformation of the Employee Experience function and aligning services more closely to internal customer needs<\/li>\n<li><strong>Product maturity:<\/strong> Establishing consistent already in place, with the successful candidate working closely with the wider Enterprise Product organization to mature and scale these capabilities.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Establish and lead the Product Management function across Infrastructure & Operations<\/li>\n<li>Define and communicate a clear product vision, strategy, and roadmap<\/li>\n<li>Establish consistent product frameworks, methodologies, and operating standards<\/li>\n<li>Create clear expectations around product maturity and define what “good” looks like<\/li>\n<li>Align Product Managers and Product Owners around a unified direction<\/li>\n<li>Own and improve product backlogs, epics, features, and user stories<\/li>\n<li>Translate infrastructure, engineering, and end-user needs into clearly defined products and services<\/li>\n<li>Balance long-term strategic planning with hands-on delivery oversight<\/li>\n<li>Lead, develop, and mentor a team of 7 direct reports<\/li>\n<li>Partner with senior stakeholders, Enterprise Product, engineering, application teams, and end users<\/li>\n<li>Drive product-led transformation across a complex hybrid This permanent position offers a unique opportunity to enhance your career in a supportive and dynamic environment.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> Senior Accounts Payable Specialist<\/strong> is to join a small, professional Finance team in central Dublin. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role suited to someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of day-to-day AP and cash activities, and support an efficient month-end close. You will work closely with Finance colleagues across international locations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Accounts Payable & Payments<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Own the end-to-end AP process, including invoice receipt, validation, coding, posting, and approvals.<\/li>\n<li>Process payments to vendors, clients, and group entities through ERP and banking platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Manage high-value, low-volume transactions.<\/li>\n<li>Resolve AP and payment queries with internal stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cash Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor daily cash balances and movements.<\/li>\n<li>Support payment runs, ad-hoc payments, and international transactions.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with Group Finance as required.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure cash activity is accurately recorded and reconciled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reconciliations & Month-End<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the month-end close, particularly AP and cash balances.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly bank, balance sheet, and income statement reconciliations.<\/li>\n<li>Produce cash and expense analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain high-quality reconciliations for audit and internal review.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting & Audit<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support quarterly Group, Board, and regulatory reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to external audit queries relating to AP, cash, and reconciliations.<\/li>\n<li>Work with Finance teams to resolve issues and ensure timely period close.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience & Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong experience in Accounts Payable or Finance Operations.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in a regulated or highly controlled environment or insurance\/reinsurance experience is advantageous.<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on approach with the ability to work independently.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Confident communicator with strong stakeholder and audit-facing skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong MS Excel and ERP experience.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Oracle<\/strong> and <strong>Account Reconciliation Cloud (ARC)<\/strong> experience is advantageous.<\/li>\n<li>Accounting or Finance qualification advantageous but not essential.<\/li>\n<li>Able to join a team for a defined period and contribute effectively from day one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/counter.adcourier.com\/VnkuRG9hbi42NzUwNy4xMTMwOUBvbGl2ZXJqYW1lc2Fzc29jaWF0ZXMuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t.gif\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>12-Month Fixed Term Contract \/ Day rate Contract Dublin City Centre Hybrid 3 days in\/ 2 days remote About the Role We are delighted to support our esteemed client, a leading and innovative company in the insurance industry, in their search for a highly…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"jobrelay_source":[1247,1248],"discipline":[1246],"industry":[],"contract_type":[1226],"vacancy_type":[1274],"work_type":[1702],"location":[1410],"class_list":["post-13210","job","type-job","status-publish","hentry","discipline-accountancy","location-dublin"],"acf":{"job_reference":"JOB-082026-313269_1787135476","job_type":"Temporary","job_industry":"Accountancy","working_arrangement":"Hybrid","featured":"","start_date":"ASAP","expiry_date":"2026-08-26","salary_currency":"EUR","salary_from":"40000","salary_to":"45000","salary_per":"annum","salary_benefits":"Bonus,","salary":"\u20ac40000 -
