This individual will be hands-on for the build-out of the team.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee accounting for underwriting activity across multiple product lines, including journal entries, account reconciliations and transaction processing. <\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the accounting close, ensuring financial information is accurate, complete and delivered within reporting deadlines. <\/li>\n<li>Support US GAAP and STAT reporting, including data and schedules required for quarterly and annual statements. <\/li>\n<li>Review underwriting account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and resolve outstanding items. <\/li>\n<li>Calculate and review profit-sharing amounts payable to distribution partners. <\/li>\n<li>Prepare management reports and financial analyses that explain results, trends and key performance drivers. <\/li>\n<li>Partner with underwriting, actuarial, ceded reinsurance, treasury and finance operations to address accounting matters and improve data quality. <\/li>\n<li>Maintain effective internal controls and documentation, supporting requests from auditors and regulators. <\/li>\n<li>Contribute to finance initiatives, identifying opportunities to automate manual work, streamline reporting and accelerate close. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <strong>Qualifications:<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. <\/li>\n<li>5+ years of relevant accounting experience; P&amp;C experience a must. <\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of STAT accounting principles and a strong understanding of US GAAP pertaining to insurance accoutning. <\/li>\n<li>Experience supporting insurance regulatory reporting and Annual Statement preparation. <\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate and explain financial discrepancies. <\/li>\n<li>Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across departments. <\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work within demanding deadlines. <\/li>\n<li>Experience improving accounting processes and using technology to increase efficiency. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div> <em>To be considered for this opportunity, please apply using the prompts provided. Working closely with the Assistant Manager and Manager, you&#8217;ll combine hands-on Senior Fund Accountant work with reviewing NAVs, supporting junior accountants and building direct client relationships.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">You&#8217;ll gain exposure across private equity, private credit and hedge funds, with training and support to help you develop as a reviewer and team supervisor. As the division expands, there is a clear path to progress and take on greater responsibility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><strong>Your responsibilities will include:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Prepare and review NAV calculations, reconciliations, accounting reports and client reporting packages.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Maintain accurate investment pricing, transaction records and supporting accounting documentation.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Review junior accountants&#8217; work, identify discrepancies and help resolve issues before deliverables are finalised.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Support junior colleagues with daily accounting tasks, systems and procedures, gradually taking on greater responsibility for training and supervision.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Build direct relationships with investment managers, responding to day-to-day enquiries and coordinating reporting deadlines.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Work closely with the Assistant Manager and Manager to prioritise workloads and deliver accurate, timely client reporting.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Coordinate and support year-end audits, ensuring accounting records and supporting schedules meet GAAP requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Assist with team development, performance discussions and recruitment as your supervisory experience grows.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen accuracy and make client delivery more efficient.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Skills &amp; Experience<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">A minimum of two years&#8217; experience in fund accounting or fund services, ideally within alternative investments.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Hands-on experience preparing NAVs, reconciliations and accounting reports, with an interest in moving into review responsibilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Exposure to private equity, private credit or hedge funds.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent professional experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and confidence learning accounting systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deliverables to deadline.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Clear communication skills and an interest in developing direct client relationships.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">A collaborative approach and willingness to help junior colleagues develop.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">A proactive attitude towards learning, solving problems and improving processes.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Previous formal management experience is not essential. This is a highly visible opportunity for an accounting leader to take ownership of SEC reporting, technical accounting, and complex accounting matters while partnering closely with senior finance leadership.<\/p>\n<p> The company is experiencing continued growth and is looking for someone who can operate as a <strong>technical accounting subject-matter expert and strategic business partner<\/strong>, rather than simply overseeing the reporting process. <\/p>\n<h3>The Opportunity<\/h3>\n<p>As the Director of SEC &amp; Technical Accounting, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company remains compliant with SEC reporting requirements and evolving accounting standards. You will work closely with the CFO, Chief Accounting Officer, finance leadership, auditors, legal, and other business stakeholders on complex accounting and reporting matters.<\/p>\n<p> This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to help shape the company&#8217;s accounting policies, reporting processes, and approach to emerging accounting issues. <\/p>\n<h3>Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the company&#8217;s <strong>SEC financial reporting process<\/strong>, including preparation and review of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and related SEC filings.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee technical accounting research and conclusions related to complex transactions and emerging accounting standards.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and technical accounting memoranda.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor developments from the <strong>FASB, SEC, PCAOB, and other relevant regulatory bodies<\/strong> and assess their impact on the organization.<\/li>\n<li>Partner with finance, legal, actuarial, investments, tax, treasury, and operational teams to evaluate the accounting implications of new transactions and initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a key accounting advisor to senior finance leadership on complex and judgmental accounting matters.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with external auditors throughout the SEC reporting and technical accounting processes.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate new accounting standards and lead implementation efforts where appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Support the preparation of audit committee materials and presentations related to financial reporting and accounting matters.<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and controls surrounding the company&#8217;s financial reporting processes.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with acquisition accounting, new products, investments, reinsurance transactions, and other significant or non-routine transactions.<\/li>\n<li>Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to members of the accounting and financial reporting organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What We&#8217;re Looking For<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.<\/li>\n<li><strong>CPA strongly preferred.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a <strong>publicly traded insurance company or Big 4 environment<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of <strong>SEC reporting and U.S. GAAP<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience with technical accounting research and complex accounting conclusions.<\/li>\n<li>P&amp;C insurance industry experience is highly preferred, particularly exposure to areas such as <strong>reinsurance, investments, reserves, acquisitions, and insurance-related accounting matters<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working directly with external auditors and senior finance leadership.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of SEC reporting requirements and financial reporting controls.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting matters to non-accounting stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/counter.adcourier.com\/Um9iZXJ0LkRpY2tlcnNvbi41NjY0MS4xMTMwOUBvbGl2ZXJqYW1lc2Fzc29jaWF0ZXMuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t.gif\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remote &#8211; Director, SEC &amp; Technical Accounting Publicly Traded P&amp;C Insurance Company Our team has been engaged by a publicly traded P&amp;C insurance company to identify a Director of SEC &amp; Technical Accounting. You will work closely with institutional clients and internal leadership to strengthen partnerships, improve operating models and support sustainable growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">The role suits an experienced leader who can translate complex client requirements into clear business priorities, influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes across multiple functions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Lead a portfolio of strategic client relationships, building trusted partnerships with senior decision-makers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Shape client account strategies around business objectives, evolving requirements and opportunities for growth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Provide leadership across service delivery, ensuring consistent quality, accountability and responsiveness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Partner with senior colleagues across operations, technology and commercial teams to deliver business improvements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Lead executive reviews and strategic discussions, providing clear insight into performance, priorities and risks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Oversee complex relationship matters and escalations, coordinating effective resolution.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Support commercial planning, revenue retention and the expansion of existing partnerships.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Contribute to the development of scalable operating models as the business grows.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><strong>Skills &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">10+ years of significant experience in private markets, investment servicing or a comparable institutional financial services environment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Proven success managing senior client relationships and overseeing complex service arrangements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Strong understanding of alternative investment structures and the operational requirements of institutional investment managers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Commercial judgment, with experience supporting account growth, negotiations and financial performance.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead initiatives across multiple business functions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Experience driving service improvements, organizational change or operational transformation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Relevant degree or professional qualification preferred.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Interested?
