[{"id":15012,"date":"2026-10-06T11:46:33","date_gmt":"2026-10-06T11:46:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oliverjames.com\/jobs\/senior-pensions-administrator-bpa-provider\/"},"modified":"2026-10-06T11:46:45","modified_gmt":"2026-10-06T11:46:45","slug":"senior-pensions-administrator-bpa-provider-15012","status":"publish","type":"job","link":"https:\/\/www.oliverjames.com\/en\/jobs\/senior-pensions-administrator-bpa-provider-15012\/","title":{"rendered":"Senior Pensions Administrator &#8211; BPA Provider"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) Operations: Senior Pensions Administrator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>The Opportunity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Our BPA Operations team is expanding, and we&#8217;re looking for an experienced pensions professional to help deliver first-class administration for policyholders and members of defined benefit schemes. <\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>What You&#8217;ll Be Doing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Taking ownership of the day-to-day administration of BPA policies and defined benefit schemes, making sure all work is accurate, timely and aligned with legislation, benefit specifications and internal policy<\/li>\n<li>Supporting policyholders with clear, proactive and personalised service including those in vulnerable circumstances in line with FCA Consumer Duty<\/li>\n<li>Managing policyholder and member activity including maintaining records and safeguarding data integrity to handling queries and processing retirement, transfer and bereavement quotations and settlements<\/li>\n<li>Preparing newly on boarded schemes for go-live, including buy-in shadow administration, payroll processing, data cleansing and the move to buy-out<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out quality assurance checks, tracking service levels and coaching and supporting colleagues<\/li>\n<li>Contributing to reporting, reconciliations, governance, projects and ongoing process improvement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>What You&#8217;ll Bring<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pensions administration experience, ideally in defined benefit or BPA environments (defined contribution exposure is also welcome)<\/li>\n<li>Solid understanding of pensions administration, including Guaranteed Minimum Pensions, and the relevant legislative and regulatory landscape<\/li>\n<li>Confidence with administration systems and Microsoft Excel, alongside good analytical, problem solving and decision making skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships with policyholders, trustees, colleagues and external suppliers<\/li>\n<li>A pensions administration qualification and knowledge of Irish pensions law would be a bonus, but aren&#8217;t essential<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We know great candidates don&#8217;t always tick every single box, so if this role excites you please apply anyway! experience who wants exposure to the full reinsurance lifecycle &#8211; from analysis and pricing through to structuring, negotiation and execution.<\/p>\n<h3>The Opportunity<\/h3>\n<p>You&#8217;ll work across a broad range of BPA reinsurance activity, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Pension Risk Transfer (PRT)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Longevity swaps<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Funded reinsurance<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Back-book transactions<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Longevity pricing and experience analysis<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The role is technically focused, with a commercial element. team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>About You<\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">We are looking for a recently qualified Life Actuary, or someone close to qualification, with a strong technical modelling background.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Ideally, you will have experience across areas such as:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Capital or risk modelling<\/li>\n<li>Solvency II \/ SCR<\/li>\n<li>Stochastic modelling<\/li>\n<li>Market or credit risk<\/li>\n<li>Model development and calibration<\/li>\n<li>R, MATLAB, VBA, Python, Excel or similar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">APAC experience is useful but not essential. The role will focus on developing, structuring and pricing life reinsurance solutions across the Europe, Middle East and Latin America regions.<\/p>\n<p>This is an opportunity to work across a wide variety of products and innovative reinsurance solutions, contributing to the development of the Life Financial Solutions team and the wider Life &amp; Health proposition.<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">2. About the job<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>As a Senior Structuring &amp; Pricing Actuary, you will be responsible for developing and pricing financial solutions and supporting the growth of the business across the region.<\/p>\n<p>Your responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Developing, structuring and marketing appropriate reinsurance solutions, considering accounting, regulatory and economic risk-transfer aspects.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Developing pricing tools to analyse the risk and profitability of life reinsurance solutions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Undertaking high-level experience analysis to support the assessment of underlying risk.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Contributing to deal execution, including responding to RFPs, negotiating terms with clients and brokers, and preparing internal approval memoranda.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Supporting business development activity, including prospecting and client visits, and promoting solutions tailored to specific client objectives.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Preparing and delivering internal and external presentations on life reinsurance topics as required.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Contributing to the development of the wider Life Financial Solutions team and enhancement of Life &amp; Health propositions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The role can be based in London, Paris, Dublin or Zurich and will involve working within an international and multicultural environment.<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">3. About you<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>We are looking for a qualified Life Actuary with a strong actuarial background and relevant financial services experience.<\/p>\n<p>You will ideally have:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\" data-pm-slice=\"3 1 []\">\n<li>\n<p>At least 8 years&#8217; relevant financial services industry experience.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Experience in actuarial pricing within life insurance and\/or reinsurance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Experience in pricing and structuring bespoke reinsurance agreements would be advantageous.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Strong knowledge of Solvency II, including awareness of issues faced by insurers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Familiarity with accounting standards such as IFRS 17 and US GAAP.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Experience developing or working with pricing tools and models.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The ability to apply technical actuarial expertise alongside commercial considerations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Experience working in a client-facing capacity.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Fluent English; additional European languages would be desirable.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The role would suit someone who enjoys working across diverse tasks, collaborating with colleagues while also working independently, and operating in a dynamic environment.<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">4.
