Oliver James is partnering with a leading personal lines insurer that is looking to hire a Claims Manager - Complex Injury for their auto unit. You will be responsible for the management, development and day to day operations of a team of Auto Injury Handlers. You will drive technical and operational strategy for your department, which in this case is more complex/ severe injury cases including litigation.
Responsibilities:
- Drives technical and operational performance of a growing team of Injury Claims Examiners
- Responsible for growth, selection and training of new personnel. Monitors performance, completes performance objectives, performance reviews and responsible for on-going development.
- Technical referral point for all complex claims matters. Claims sign-off for larger losses.
- Works closely with senior leadership on business strategy, best practice and growth
- Ensures that all corporate procedures are followed within the office.
- Conducts audits to ensure that compliance with company guidelines and laws are met in all phases of claims handling. Providing feedback where necessary.
- Evaluates skills and training needs of team by review of audit results, management reports and observation of day to day work performance.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Significant auto claims leadership experience within bodily injury / injury litigation
- Previous experience as a Auto Claims Examiner/Adjuster with high level of technical acumen
- Excellent knowledge of all related liability claims matters including litigation
- Strong understanding of technology and how it applies to insurance
- University Degree and ideally AIC Designation
