Finance Support Systems Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Finance Projects and Systems Team to manage and lead a small team to deliver day to day support for the UK for SAP GFC and Planning Analytics. You and your team will work closely with colleagues across Finance to ensure the smooth running and updating of the systems to enable Finance to deliver Actual, Forecast and Plan reporting requirements.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren't available full-time.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Promote a positive team culture providing development, guidance and support to a team of 3 technicians - the team are based in both Swindon and Fareham so travel to both offices will be required
  • Manage communications with stakeholders for planned and unplanned activities
  • Manage the UK close processes for the systems and understand the links with business processes and the impact of any changes
  • Support the close, forecast and plan processes ensuring Planning Analytics is updated accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manage day to day change processes for the UK. E.g., master data and system close jobs.
  • Manage system access and system recertification processes
  • Ensure robust controls are in place, maintained and adhered to in relation to SAP and Planning Analytics
  • Support control testing, audit queries and provide appropriate evidence in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships

Your skills and experience:

  • Team player with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Outgoing approach and willingness to learn.
  • Good knowledge of Financial Systems and databases (preferably SAP and Planning Analytics).
  • Good understanding of Finance processes particularly in relation to the month end close
  • Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Problem-solving skills and initiative
  • Strong attention to detail and a curious nature
  • Excellent analytical skills, understanding system problems and identifying solutions
