Oliver James have partnered with one of the largest Asset Managers to recruit for an In-House Company Secretary to join a strong and seasoned team.

This position will report directly into the head of the function and will take an inch wide, mile deep approach to all things corporate governance.

The role will suit an individual coming from a Law Firm or Corporate Service provider who is interesting in moving away from large portfolios and getting stuck into the corporate governance framework, policies and procedures assuring a strong corporate governance culture is embedded in the business. Similarly, this position would also suit an individual who is coming from a Fund Accounting/ Fund operations role who is interested in making a move away from daily NAV calculations and into a corporate governance position.

The successful candidate can expect a varied and challenging remit which will focus on the following;

  • Ensuring the highest level of corporate governance within the Business
  • Balance the business of a range of corporate entities by crafting agendas, preparing and distributing board packs, completing matters arising and minutes and the monitoring board delegation policies.
  • Support the strong governance and control framework in place across the European business by adherence to the processes and procedures to meet all regulatory and statuary obligations.
  • Management of shareholder meetings where appropriate
  • Updating company records, both internally and on blueprint and preparing templates, as well as reviewing and drafting documents and procedures.

The successful candidate will ideally be coming from a Funds ICSA background and have an excellent grasp of both written and spoken english. An ability to work in a fast-paced and flexible environment is a must. A sound understanding of investment instruments and markets is high desirable also.
