One of the largest insurance companies known for their extensive presence across APAC. A flagship insurer known consistently for leading financial transformation initiatives in the industry.

Our client recently acquired a life insurer to leverage their clients across mainland in expanding their presence in the Greater Bay Area. This acquisition will require candidates to ensure alignment across all domains of the business (Accounting, Actuarial, I.T).

Planning and Delivery:

  • Plan and manage delivery of Group Finance and Actuarial deliverable relating to the Finance integration initiative
  • Develop and maintain the project plan, both at a high level and at a detailed level;
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies via the RAID log, and timely escalation for resolution;
  • Manage resource requirements;
  • Prepare materials and facilitate discussions on Finance integration topics between Group Office, Local Entities, & the Acquired Business and external parties;
  • Perform gap analysis, inter-dependency analysis, impact analysis or other project/ business analysis as required to ensure quality of project delivery, including preparation of process maps and requirements documentation;
  • Deliver project documentations such as feasibility study, business cases, recommendation papers, business solution designs, implementation plans, and communication plans.

Stakeholder Reporting:

  • Manage the fortnightly reporting process for the Project Working Group meetings;
  • Support preparation of the materials for Combined Work-stream meetings and Joint Liaison Committee, including updates for work-streams, time lines, risks and issues, budget update, and other relevant updates, as required;
  • Facilitate the preparation of adhoc project updates to stakeholders, including reports for Group Steerco, Group Exco, Regulators and other Group Office stakeholders.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all required project governance documentation and supporting infrastructure;
  • Manage the information flows between the various work-streams;
  • Suggest solutions and designs to effectively and efficiently implement the deliverable.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, be innovative and explore new possibilities to improve;
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics (e.g. Financial, IT) to easily understandable concepts and develop solutions for management considerations;
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple levels including seniority and disciplines;
  • Quality and clarity of project materials produced;
  • Adherence to pre-agreed time-lines and Group Office governance policies;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritise tasks, maintain structure and organisation while remaining flexible and ready to adapt to new challenges.

Communication Requirements:

  • Internal: Stakeholder management requirements will be within Group Finance functions, Local B.U and Acquired Business, varying from working level up to Exco level;
  • External: Partners (e.g. auditor, vendors), consultants.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree level education, post graduate;
  • Minimum 8-10 years industry experience, with prior experience in project management in a financial environment;
  • Accounting or actuarial qualifications desirable;
  • Experience in Corporate Transactions (e.g. corporate restructurings, M&A) is preferred;
  • Ability to understand business issues, and liaise effectively with various departments;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills;
  • Exceptional organisation and motivational skills, including attention to detail;
  • Located in Hong Kong;
  • Available until end 2022;
  • Cantonese speaking is preferred.
