Our client is a specialised global Insurer, and is looking for a Power Risk Engineer expanding their team. This is a great with promising career path. The ideal candidate will be someone with a strong Power technical skill set, to value add to their existing team of experienced and professional individuals. You will be the subject matter expert in any matters in relation to Power/ Power generation, providing technical input on claims and identifying areas for mitigation and recommendations. You will be working closely alongside the Claims and Underwriting team, carry out on-site risk engineering surveys for existing and prospective Clients and providing detailed marketing risk engineering survey report for Underwriters, Brokers, or the Client. Some travel may be required.

Power engineers who are looking to make a switch into a corporate role but still carry their expertise and carry on their on-site surveys are welcomed to apply.

Requirements

• Previous relevant experience of 9-12 years in an aligned role with a background in one of the following areas in a managerial, technical or consultancy role in a Power Generation Plant or Power Generation Major Equipment Manufacturer: Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Construction, Commissioning, Risk Management or Project Management.
• Experience in the General (non-Life) Insurance industry preferable but not necessary.
• Strong communication skills with consultative approach and relationship building skills
• Good computer/systems literacy including first class Word and PowerPoint skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Bachelors of Science or Engineering degree in a technical discipline, such as Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
