Winforms Software Developer - Financial Services

A major investment client of ours with presence in Manchester and London is looking for a Senior Winforms Software Developer to join the team and this role is home based for now, but will move to a hybrid pattern so expect 2-3 days in the Central Manchester offices.

A couple of things to point out, the area of the business is still very legacy focused, it's all Winforms based desktop applications. However, this team is key for the business as they look after the software which is at the heart of fund managers and the trading tesks, so this software is pivotal for trading. There are plans to gradually improve and move away from this system but this is not likely to happen for a couple of years. They do however look after some modern components, lots of services, M service bus, the data is hosted in SQL Server. They are also trying to build newer components so they have a longer life, using React UI to replace some components etc.

Skills:

Winfoms/ C# / .NET Framework / ASP.NET Core / SQL.

Experience working in Agile teams performing iterative development.

DVCS with Git or Mercurial.

The role is a permanent position, you can expect an excellent benefits package as well as a starting salary upt o £70,000.
