Appian Developer (Contract)

We are partnering with a leading global financial services organization seeking an experienced Appian Developer to support a large-scale digital workflow and client platform initiative. This role will focus on building secure, scalable business process applications and integrations within an enterprise environment.
About the Role
This is a hands-on development position working across the full software development lifecycle – from requirements gathering and solution design through deployment and production support. You’ll help enhance complex workflow automation systems that support onboarding, reporting, and operational processes across the business.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a structured enterprise setting and collaborating with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to deliver high-performing Appian solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in full SDLC: requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Develop Appian objects including SAIL interfaces, process models, expression rules, record types, integrations, and security configurations.
- Design and support REST API integrations and enterprise system connections.
- Build and optimize database objects (tables, views, stored procedures).
- Troubleshoot workflow issues and provide L2/L3 production support.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines and support deployments across environments.
- Ensure solutions follow Appian best practices, governance standards, and compliance requirements.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable designs.
Required Qualifications
- 2-7+ years of hands-on Appian development experience
- Strong knowledge of Appian architecture, SAIL, process models, data sync, and integration objects
- Experience designing REST integrations and troubleshooting workflows
- SQL proficiency (database design and query optimization)
- Understanding of BPM concepts and workflow automation
- Experience with Git, Agile environments, and DevOps processes
Preferred Experience
- Appian certifications (Associate, Senior, or Lead Developer)
- Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
- Exposure to RPA tools (Appian RPA, Selenium, Cucumber)
- Familiarity with .NET, Java, Python, or other full-stack technologies
- Experience with Appian upgrades or data migrations
