Account Reconciliation AM

Responsibilities

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations across key finance accounts and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Investigate unreconciled balances and discrepancies through detailed root cause analysis.
  • Partner with Finance, Actuarial, Claims, Underwriting, Policy Administration and other business stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Support IFRS 17 related accounting, reporting and reconciliation activities.
  • Validate accounting records against source systems and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor reconciliation status and ensure compliance with internal control requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain reconciliation documentation, audit schedules and supporting evidence.
  • Support internal and external audit activities and respond to auditor queries.
  • Liaise with regional and corporate finance stakeholders where required.
  • Drive process improvements and support ongoing finance transformation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
  • 3-8 years of relevant experience within:
    • Big 4 Audit
    • Big 4 Advisory
    • Insurance Finance
    • Financial Reporting
    • IFRS 17 implementation or reporting
  • Strong understanding of IFRS 17 and insurance accounting principles.
  • Experience supporting life insurance or financial services clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to investigate issues, identify root causes and drive solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Exposure to SAP, Oracle or other finance systems is advantageous.
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent is preferred.
