Business Analyst / Technical Business Analyst
Location: Kuala Lumpur
We are seeking a Business Analyst / Technical Business Analyst with deep domain expertise in the Insurance sector or Banking Sector.
In this role, you will bridges business needs with technical solutions, ensuring IT projects deliver value by translating requirements into actionable specifications, analysing systems and data flows, and coordinating across stakeholders.
Open to candidates with 1-3 years of experience. Insurance background is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and document business needs, goals, and pain points.
- Translate requirements into functional and non-functional technical specifications.
- Prepare user stories, BRDs, FRDs, and acceptance criteria for development teams.
- Assess systems, integrations, APIs, and data flows to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve data reliability, and enhance system performance.
- Review solution designs to confirm they meet both business and technical requirements.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams.
- Support Agile processes such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and user story grooming.
- Lead or support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Conduct UAT, functional testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.
- Provide end-user training, system demonstrations, and post-implementation support.
- Maintain detailed reports on system performance and project outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience as a Business Analyst within the Insurance or Financial Services industry.
- Skills:
- SQL / Databases for data analysis and system configuration.
- Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, and cloud platforms (Azure, .NET).
- Knowledge of Java, Linux/Unix, and Spring Boot in financial services projects.
- Experience with software implementation, system configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Tools: JIRA, Confluence, Postman, Swagger, Power Platform, SharePoint.
- Business BA or Technical BA background are both welcome
- Candidates from technology vendors are preferred
- Independent, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin/Cantonese preferred
