We’re partnering with a growing mid-sized insurance organization seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager<\/strong> to lead the delivery of modern digital solutions while developing and mentoring a high-performing engineering team.<\/p>\n

What You’ll Do<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers responsible for delivering scalable business-critical applications.<\/li>\n
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.<\/li>\n
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders, product leaders, architects, and technology teams to deliver strategic initiatives.<\/li>\n
  • Guide technical direction and architectural decisions to ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable.<\/li>\n
  • Lead the planning, estimation, execution, and successful delivery of complex software initiatives.<\/li>\n
  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, including automation, quality engineering, observability, and continuous delivery.<\/li>\n
  • Evaluate new technologies, platforms, and tools that can improve operational efficiency and business outcomes.<\/li>\n
  • Manage team capacity, resource planning, prioritization, and delivery commitments.<\/li>\n
  • Provide transparency into project progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes through effective stakeholder communication.<\/li>\n
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to ensure alignment between technical solutions and business objectives.<\/li>\n
  • Identify and address technical challenges while balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term sustainability.<\/li>\n
  • Support employee growth through coaching, performance management, career development, and ongoing mentorship.<\/li>\n
  • Promote Agile delivery principles and help drive continuous process improvement across the organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What We’re Looking For<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • 10+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise software solutions.<\/li>\n
    • 3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams in an Agile environment.<\/li>\n
    • Proven success managing technical teams while delivering large-scale business and technology initiatives.<\/li>\n
    • Strong experience designing and supporting distributed, cloud-based applications and services.<\/li>\n
    • Deep understanding of modern software architecture, application development, and software delivery practices.<\/li>\n
    • Experience leading technical discussions and influencing architectural decisions across multiple stakeholders.<\/li>\n
    • Strong understanding of application integration, API design, event-driven systems, and modern development patterns.<\/li>\n
    • Demonstrated ability to hire, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering talent.<\/li>\n
    • Experience managing priorities, project risks, dependencies, and competing business demands.<\/li>\n
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.<\/li>\n
    • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.<\/li>\n
    • Exposure to highly regulated or complex enterprise environments is beneficial.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Preferred Technical Experience<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Experience building and supporting solutions within modern cloud environments.<\/li>\n
      • Background in enterprise application development using contemporary programming languages and frameworks.<\/li>\n
      • Familiarity with distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, APIs, messaging technologies, and integration platforms.<\/li>\n
      • Experience with containerization, orchestration, and automated deployment practices.<\/li>\n
      • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code, automation frameworks, and modern operational practices.<\/li>\n
      • Experience implementing security, compliance, quality, and governance standards throughout the software development lifecycle.<\/li>\n
      • Familiarity with modern monitoring, logging, and observability practices.<\/li>\n
      • Experience working with both relational and non-relational database technologies.<\/li>\n
      • Exposure to modern web and user-facing application technologies.<\/li>\n
      • Knowledge of Agile planning, delivery management, and software lifecycle tools.<\/li>\n
      • Interest or experience in emerging technologies, automation, artificial intelligence, or advanced analytics is a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
