About the Opportunity<\/h2>\n

Our client is a growing specialty insurance organization seeking a Manager, Program Oversight & Risk Management<\/strong> to support the evaluation, governance, and ongoing oversight of insurance program partnerships. This role will play a critical part in assessing new business opportunities, monitoring existing programs, identifying emerging risks, and ensuring MGA relationships align with the company’s strategic objectives, risk appetite, and regulatory expectations.<\/p>\n

The Manager will serve as a key partner across underwriting, operations, finance, claims, legal, compliance, and reinsurance teams to deliver comprehensive risk assessments and actionable insights to senior leadership. This individual will have the opportunity to influence business decisions, strengthen governance frameworks, and support scalable growth within a dynamic insurance environment.<\/p>\n

The ideal candidate will have experience within program insurance, MGA oversight, delegated authority, underwriting operations, risk management, or insurance portfolio governance<\/strong> and possess strong analytical, communication, and project leadership skills.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n
    \n
  • Lead the end-to-end oversight and risk assessment process for new and existing MGA, program, and treaty opportunities, including financial, operational, contractual, and strategic reviews.<\/li>\n
  • Evaluate program partners by analyzing financial performance, operational capabilities, governance structures, underwriting practices, claims processes, and overall alignment with company risk appetite.<\/li>\n
  • Identify key risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement; collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop mitigation strategies and recommendations.<\/li>\n
  • Partner cross-functionally with underwriting, claims, finance, legal, compliance, operations, and reinsurance teams to ensure comprehensive assessments and effective program governance.<\/li>\n
  • Support the onboarding and implementation of new program partnerships by coordinating diligence activities, reviewing documentation, and ensuring operational readiness.<\/li>\n
  • Monitor existing programs and MGA relationships by analyzing performance trends, financial results, operational metrics, and emerging risks; escalate concerns and recommend appropriate actions.<\/li>\n
  • Lead preparation of program renewal assessments, including historical performance reviews, financial analysis, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare executive-level reporting, presentations, and written recommendations for senior management, regulators, reinsurers, and other key stakeholders.<\/li>\n
  • Support quarterly reporting and executive alignment by providing insight into portfolio performance, operating conditions, and risk considerations.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure contractual agreements and program documentation accurately reflect negotiated terms, regulatory requirements, and governance expectations.<\/li>\n
  • Drive continuous improvement of program oversight processes, tools, documentation standards, and risk assessment methodologies.<\/li>\n
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with MGAs, brokers, reinsurers, regulators, and internal stakeholders to support business growth and effective partnership management.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to the development of scalable strategies across operations, underwriting, and reinsurance functions while promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.<\/li>\n
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.<\/li>\n
  • Maintain compliance with applicable US and international regulatory requirements, including obligations related to prudent business management, customer interests, sanctions, financial crime prevention, and regulatory expectations.<\/li>\n
  • Travel periodically as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications & Experience<\/h2>\n
      \n
    • 6-10 years of experience in program insurance, MGA oversight, delegated authority, underwriting operations, risk management, due diligence, portfolio management, or a related insurance discipline<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Demonstrated experience evaluating and managing relationships with MGAs, carriers, reinsurers, brokers, or other insurance partners.<\/li>\n
    • Strong understanding of insurance products, specialty insurance programs, MGA structures, fronting arrangements, and delegated authority models.<\/li>\n
    • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements, P&L results, balance sheets, reinsurance financials, and operational performance data.<\/li>\n
    • Experience conducting risk assessments, financial reviews, operational evaluations, and translating findings into actionable business recommendations.<\/li>\n
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution.<\/li>\n
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive summaries, leadership presentations, and strategic reporting.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, operational teams, technical stakeholders, and external partners.<\/li>\n
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain a strategic perspective and identify broader business implications.<\/li>\n
    • Experience leading or mentoring team members, including remote employees, with a collaborative and coaching-oriented leadership style.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.<\/li>\n
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and project management tools. Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools is a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Preferred Qualifications<\/h2>\n

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field required.<\/li>\n
      • Advanced insurance or financial certifications such as CPCU, ARe, CPA, CFA, or similar designations are highly valued.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

The team supports a steady pipeline of reinsurance treaties, block trades, and corporate acquisitions across the insurance and reinsurance space.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This role sits within the M&A and strategic transactions function and covers financial due diligence and valuation on insurance and reinsurance opportunities, deal modeling and structuring across reinsurance treaties, block trades, and corporate acquisitions, coordination with affiliated insurance entities and internal investment teams through the life of each deal, and authorship of investment memos and diligence materials for senior stakeholders and investment committees.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will work closely with senior members of the insurance solutions team and will get regular exposure to large scale life and annuity transactions, alongside broader M&A activity across the platform’s insurance footprint.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements \/ Ideal Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in FIG M&A investment banking with insurance and reinsurance coverage, insurance focused private equity, or insurance asset management, with direct exposure to insurance transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced management accountant to take ownership of financial reporting, expense analysis, budgeting and forecasting within a complex finance environment, while supporting continuous improvement across finance processes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The role offers a broad remit, combining management reporting, financial control and business partnering, with the opportunity to mentor junior members of the team and contribute to finance transformation initiatives.<\/p>\n<h3>Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reports.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the monthly expense reporting process, including detailed expense analysis, variance analysis and cost allocation.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial plans, providing insight into business performance and expenditure.<\/li>\n<li>Perform balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring balances are fully understood, supported and accurately reported.<\/li>\n<li>Support the monthly and quarterly financial close process, ensuring reporting deadlines are achieved.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the general ledger and complete bank reconciliations.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare information for group reporting in line with reporting timetables.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with statutory and regulatory reporting where required.<\/li>\n<li>Support the finance controls framework by maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with internal policies.<\/li>\n<li>Take ownership of finance data quality, identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes and system integrity.<\/li>\n<li>Mentor and support junior members of the finance team, providing guidance on journals and day-to-day accounting activities.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with colleagues across different finance functions to deliver accurate and reliable reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Support ad hoc finance projects and continuous process improvement initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>About You<\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">You’ll be an experienced finance professional with strong management accounting skills and the confidence to work with large volumes of financial data.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">You’ll ideally have:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Experience producing monthly management accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Strong experience in expense analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reconciliations.<\/li>\n<li>A solid understanding of balance sheet accounting and financial controls.<\/li>\n<li>Confidence investigating and explaining financial balances.<\/li>\n<li>Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP\/XLOOKUP functions.<\/li>\n<li>Experience using ERP or finance systems such as SAP or similar.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to prioritise workloads and meet reporting deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Previous insurance experience, or a good understanding of insurance finance, would be highly desirable.<\/li>\n<li>Experience supporting data quality, financial reporting and process improvements.<\/li>\n<li>The confidence to mentor and support junior members of the finance team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What’s on Offer<\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Hybrid working.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to join a collaborative finance function.<\/li>\n<li>Broad management accounting role with significant exposure to reporting, planning and finance projects.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Long-term career development within a well-established financial services organisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/counter.adcourier.com\/SmVzcy5CYWtlci4xMjYxNC4xMTMwOUBvbGl2ZXJqYW1lc2Fzc29jaWF0ZXMuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t.gif\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office) Salary: \u00a365,000 Job Type: Permanent We’re recruiting for a Senior Management Accountant to join a well-established insurance business.
