This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with deep investment accounting expertise to play a key role in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and process improvement within a dynamic environment.<\/p>\n<h2>Position Overview<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The Senior Investment Accountant will be responsible for overseeing investment accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting regulatory filings, and collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external service providers. This position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, exceptional analytical skills, and experience with insurance industry investment reporting.<\/p>\n<h2>Primary Responsibilities<\/h2>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Provide oversight of the organization&#8217;s outsourced investment accounting provider, ensuring work is completed accurately, on schedule, and in accordance with established service level agreements (SLAs).<\/li>\n<li>Review, verify, and approve investment accounting journal entries, account reconciliations, valuation analyses, and financial reporting related to investment activity.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate complex investment transactions and determine the appropriate accounting treatment based on applicable accounting standards.<\/li>\n<li>Research, interpret, and implement new accounting pronouncements and guidance affecting investment accounting.<\/li>\n<li>Lead and coordinate month-end and quarter-end investment accounting close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Manage statutory investment reporting requirements, including preparation and review of NAIC Schedules D, DA, BA, and E, along with all related disclosures.<\/li>\n<li>Coach and support junior accounting professionals while promoting continuous improvement of investment accounting processes and workflows.<\/li>\n<li>Calculate and prepare fair value adjustments for impaired investment securities.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare, review, and validate statutory investment schedules, including Investment Income Exhibits, Realized and Unrealized Gain\/Loss Exhibits, and all accompanying footnote disclosures.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with monitoring statutory deposit requirements and coordinate the replacement of securities held within those deposits when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Support surplus relief initiatives and provide investment reporting associated with those programs.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and coordinate communications related to capital markets transactions, working with parties such as trustees, financial guarantors, asset custodians, investment managers, and rating agencies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Required Qualifications<\/h2>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of seven (7) years of investment accounting experience, with prior insurance or financial services industry experience strongly preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Comprehensive understanding of statutory accounting principles and NAIC reporting requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Experience collaborating with outsourced investment accounting firms and\/or investment custodians.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of Clearwater or a comparable investment accounting platform.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across multiple teams.<\/li>\n<li>Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications<\/h2>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>CPA, CFA, or active pursuit of a professional accounting or finance certification.<\/li>\n<li>Experience accounting for private funds and alternative investment portfolios.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience interpreting and implementing new accounting standards and regulatory guidance.<\/li>\n<li>Background in process automation, technology enhancements, or financial system integrations.<\/li>\n<li>Participation in employee resource groups (ERGs), volunteer initiatives, or other cultural and community engagement activities.<\/li>\n<li>Ability and willingness to travel periodically for business meetings, conferences, or team events.<\/li>\n<li>Flexible mindset with a willingness to contribute to broader organizational initiatives as business needs evolve.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Benefits<\/h2>\n<p Private Credit Fund Accounting"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Oliver James have recently partnered with a global alternative asset manager as they seek to hire a Senior Vice President of Fund Accounting to oversee their fast growing multi-credit asset platform.<\/p>\n<p>The role based in Manhattan will see this Director-level professional be responsible for a wide variety of duties including fund accounting and financial reporting oversight, fund operations, strategic partnership, process improvement, senior management and much more.<\/p>\n<p>Our client is ideally seeking a CPA qualified professional with 12-18 years of experience across both the public and private sectors (Big 4 &amp; multi-fund asset managers &#8211; ideally with diverse experience within private credit\/structured credit platforms.)<\/p>\n<p>They are offering a competitive salary &amp; bonus package worth up to $350,000 from a purely cash perspective, strong hybrid working, excellent healthcare &amp; 401k benefits, a clear route for progression to the executive level and much more!<\/p><\/div>\n<div><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee all accounting functions including quarterly close packages, income and expense allocations, waterfall calculations, NAV calculations etc.<\/li>\n<li>Review partnership and fund IRRs and other performance metrics on a quarterly basis.<\/li>\n<li>Manage investor capital call and distribution processes.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee credit facility management, including lender reporting, covenant monitoring and borrowing base calculations.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a strategic finance partner to the Portfolio Management team on overall business development and management including due diligence, fund structuring and fee calculations.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate across internal functions &#8211; including Compliance, Legal, Tax and Valuation &#8211; as well as external counter-parties including fund administrators and auditors to ensure timely and accurate fund operations.<\/li>\n<li>Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance the scalability and efficiency of fund accounting and financial reporting workflows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>12+ years of experience across both Big 4 public accounting &amp; Expert<\/strong> to play a key role in shaping the future of their Motor pricing strategy. This is an opportunity to join a business that actively encourages new ideas, challenges conventional thinking and values expertise gained from outside the organisation.<\/p>\n<p>This is not a role for someone who simply maintains existing models. They are looking for someone who enjoys building, leading and delivering strategic pricing initiatives from conception through to implementation, while working closely with senior stakeholders across Pricing, Underwriting, IT and Distribution.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll be given the autonomy to challenge the status quo, introduce innovative approaches and influence the future direction of the pricing function.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead strategic pricing projects from initial concept through to implementation and post-launch monitoring.<\/li>\n<li>Develop innovative pricing solutions to support new distribution channels, including broker partnerships and new business initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Drive the evolution of pricing methodologies, including algorithmic pricing and the integration of external data sources.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with IT, Data Science, Underwriting and Commercial teams to deliver pricing transformation projects.<\/li>\n<li>Challenge existing pricing approaches and recommend improvements based on market knowledge and technical expertise.<\/li>\n<li>Take ownership of project governance, stakeholder management and delivery timelines.<\/li>\n<li>Mentor and support junior pricing analysts and interns, helping to develop the next generation of pricing talent.<\/li>\n<li>Act as a recognised pricing expert within the business, influencing strategic decisions and contributing to long-term commercial success.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What We&#8217;re Looking For<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8-10+ years&#8217; experience in General Insurance Pricing.<\/li>\n<li>Strong experience within <strong>Motor Pricing<\/strong> is highly desirable, although Property pricing experience will also be considered.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrable experience leading complex pricing projects and delivering business change.<\/li>\n<li>Strong technical pricing expertise with a commercial mindset.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with pricing models, external data and advanced analytical techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and influencing decision-making at senior levels.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience managing or mentoring junior team members.<\/li>\n<li>French market knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What Makes This Opportunity Different?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a business that genuinely values innovation and entrepreneurial thinking.
