responsibilities:<\/strong><br \/>* Management and performance reporting<br \/>* Financial and variance analysis<br \/>* Supporting executive and senior leadership reporting<br \/>* Turning financial and operational data into clear business insight<br \/>* Working with Finance, Actuarial and wider business stakeholders<br \/>* Supporting FP&A and commercial decision-making<br \/>* Improving MI, The Fund Accountant will own the fund accounting function and have great exposure to funds, the business and internal\/external stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>The role will be Hybrid, in LA however there may be an initial ~ramp up: phase in office. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Responsibilities: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take full ownership of day-to-day fund accounting across a portfolio of private investment funds <\/li>\n<li>Manage general ledger activity, journal entries and monthly and quarterly close processes<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate books and records covering investments, income, expenses, assets and liabilities <\/li>\n<li>Monitor and allocate fund expenses against budgets and governing documentation <\/li>\n<li>Reconcile investment activity using portfolio accounting systems and ensure all transactions are accurately captured <\/li>\n<li>Record and reconcile monthly cash activity across fund bank accounts <\/li>\n<li>Prepare quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements <\/li>\n<li>Support investor reporting and respond to limited partner queries and ad hoc analysis requests <\/li>\n<li>Coordinate annual fund audits, acting as a key point of contact for auditors for external fund administrators <\/li>\n<li>Partner with external tax specialists to support timely and accurate fund tax filings, including K-1 preparation <\/li>\n<li>Ensure funds remain compliant with relevant regulations, internal policies, GAAP and industry best practice <\/li>\n<li>Contribute to risk management, operational improvements and broader finance projects across the firm<\/li>\n<li>Handle highly confidential information with the discretion and attention to detail expected within a private investment environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Qualifications \/ Skills required: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to fund accounting. <strong>Tax experience is a strong advantage<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Previous experience within a fund administrator or large accounting\/investment environment<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline required <\/li>\n<li>Professional qualifications such as CPA, CFA or MBA are welcome<\/li>\n<li>Experience with fund accounting, portfolio accounting or financial management systems <\/li>\n<li>Highly detail-oriented and proactive, with a genuine sense of ownership <\/li>\n<li>Professional and polished communicator with strong relationship building skills <\/li>\n<li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please apply directly or contact Morgan.tull@oliverjames.com <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/counter.adcourier.com\/TW9yZ2FuLlR1bGwuNjgzNjQuMTEzMDlAb2xpdmVyamFtZXNhc3NvY2lhdGVzLmFwbGl0cmFrLmNvbQ.gif\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing boutique investment firm.
