The company operates across the property and casualty insurance market and is recognized for its specialized underwriting expertise and disciplined approach to risk management.<\/p>\n<h2> <\/h2>\n<h2>Position Overview<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The Lead Financial Business Partner will serve as a strategic individual contributor responsible for financial planning and analysis, management reporting and business insight generation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">This individual will work closely with senior finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve forecasting, analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights that support enterprise decision-making. The position will also play a leading role in building out the FP&amp;A function and enhancing the company&#8217;s budgeting, reporting and data capabilities.<\/p>\n<h2> <\/h2>\n<h2>Key Responsibilities:<\/h2>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Lead the development of the FP&amp;A function, including assuming ownership of the budgeting and planning process.<\/li>\n<li>Drive the implementation and adoption of analytics tools for budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare quarterly budget-to-actual and variance analysis across premiums, losses and expenses.<\/li>\n<li>Incorporate actuarial data and loss assumptions into forecasts, budgets and performance reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze financial close results and explain key movements across premiums, losses and expenses.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate financial close schedules, flux analysis and consolidated FP&amp;A reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Partner with actuarial, accounting, technology and business intelligence teams to improve reporting accuracy and data integration.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a key liaison with the controllership team, ensuring ledger activity is properly interpreted and reconciled.<\/li>\n<li>Manage quarterly reporting and reconcile results to the general ledger, Schedule P and supporting loss data.<\/li>\n<li>Develop management reporting that clearly compares actual results against budget and forecast.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver finalized financial reporting and actionable insights to senior leadership.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee balance-sheet and suspense-account reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies and aged items are resolved promptly.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor outstanding balances, including items aged more than 90 days and unresolved bank-reconciliation items.<\/li>\n<li>Support oversight of accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense reporting and allocation methodologies.<\/li>\n<li>Manage audit deliverables, including information requests and supporting documentation for external auditors.<\/li>\n<li>Enhance business intelligence reporting through collaboration with technology teams and the use of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.<\/li>\n<li>Integrate loss data, legacy-system reports and other financial information into centralized planning and reporting platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to broader finance-transformation initiatives by developing scalable reporting, budgeting and analytical solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2> <\/h2>\n<h2>Qualifications:<\/h2>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.<\/li>\n<li>7+ of progressive experience in FP&amp;A, finance, accounting or business analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Experience within the P&amp;C insurance industry is required.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling and variance analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Previous exposure to financial reporting and close environments.<\/li>\n<li>Strong cross-functional business-partnering experience.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with financial systems, ERP platforms or planning tools.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric or other data-visualization tools is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>MBA or other relevant advanced qualification is a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;font-family: Verdana;font-size: 10.0pt;color: #2f2f2f\"><span style=\"font-style: italic;background: white\">To be considered for this opportunity, please apply using the prompts provided. We&#8217;re looking for someone vendor-neutral who can step into cross-domain complexity, close out technical decisions that span multiple teams, and translate them into sequenced, value-led delivery, without stepping on Product&#8217;s or Engineering&#8217;s toes.<\/p>\n<p>Working across 3-4 teams spanning Business, Technology, and third-party vendors, you&#8217;ll define target and transition architecture for the SMS platform specifically, assess integration patterns, and advise on the build vs. buy vs. reuse decisions that will shape its future.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key responsibilities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Defining target and transition architecture across the SMS stack, including delivery, short codes, templates, consent, retention and orchestration.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding how core platform components (e.g. DCP, EP, SLX, Chorus) and Line of Business systems fit together, and the cross-domain impacts of architectural change on SMS delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Advising on build vs. buy vs. reuse decisions for the SMS platform, with the judgment to know when each is the right call.<\/li>\n<li>Working across 3-4 teams to understand integration patterns and assess the implications of decisions across each.<\/li>\n<li>Closing cross-domain technical decisions and translating them into sequenced, value-led delivery work.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting vendor evaluation for SMS platform capabilities, ideally staying through the first end-to-end implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Advising on the operating model: vendor management, consent enforcement, records\/legal hold, incident ownership and LOB adoption.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We&#8217;re looking for someone with strong Enterprise Architecture experience specifically within SMS platforms &#8211; this is the core focus of the role &#8211; and a clear understanding of transition architecture and how decisions in one domain (e.g. login\/authentication) ripple into others.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll be confident operating vendor-neutral, comfortable closing decisions across multiple stakeholder groups, and experienced enough to advise credibly on operating model considerations in a regulated environment. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for month-end reporting, management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and balance sheet control across multiple cost centres. You&#8217;ll work closely with senior stakeholders, using financial insight to support business performance, identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the month-end close across multiple cost centres, including journals, P&amp;L, balance sheet and reconciliations.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs for senior management.<\/li>\n<li>Analyse financial performance, identifying variances, trends, risks and opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver revenue and margin analysis by business unit and customer.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare regular P&amp;L, balance sheet and working capital forecasts.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, providing clear commentary and insight.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee stock reporting and reconciliations and support effective working capital management.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial controls.<\/li>\n<li>Support internal and external audits.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and implement process improvements, automation and reporting efficiencies.<\/li>\n<li>Support ERP and finance technology development and implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Partner with Finance, Operations, customers and suppliers to monitor KPIs and improve business performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key requirements <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Qualified Accountant &#8211; ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA., ideally 4+ years PQE<\/li>\n<li>Strong experience in management accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent Excel skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with ERP systems and process improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and controls.<\/li>\n<li>Proven audit experience.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, distribution or supply chain would also be highly advantageous. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/counter.adcourier.com\/VnkuRG9hbi4zNDgxNi4xMTMwOUBvbGl2ZXJqYW1lc2Fzc29jaWF0ZXMuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t.gif\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Permanent role Working model: Hybrid Reporting to: Head of Finance The Opportunity OJ&#8217;s client is looking for a qualified, commercially focused Management Accountant to join their Finance team. for an experienced SMS Architect to bring clarity and direction to a complex, multi-domain transformation.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This isn&#8217;t a traditional architecture role. We&#8217;re looking for someone vendor-neutral who can step into cross-domain complexity, close out technical decisions that span multiple teams, and translate them into sequenced, value-led delivery, without stepping on Product&#8217;s or Engineering&#8217;s toes.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Working across 3-4 teams spanning Business, Technology, and third-party vendors, you&#8217;ll define target and transition architecture for the SMS stack, assess integration patterns, and advise on the build vs. buy vs. reuse decisions that will shape the platform&#8217;s future.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Key responsibilities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Defining target and transition architecture across the SMS\/communications stack, including delivery, short codes, templates, consent, retention and orchestration.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding how core platform components (e.g. DCP, EP, SLX, Chorus) and Line of Business systems fit together, and the cross-domain impacts of architectural change.<\/li>\n<li>Advising on build vs. buy vs. reuse decisions, with the judgment to know when each is the right call.<\/li>\n<li>Working across 3-4 teams to understand integration patterns and assess the implications of decisions across each.<\/li>\n<li>Closing cross-domain technical decisions and translating them into sequenced, value-led delivery work.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting vendor evaluation, ideally staying through the first end-to-end implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Advising on the operating model: vendor management, consent enforcement, records\/legal hold, incident ownership and LOB adoption.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We&#8217;re looking for someone with strong Enterprise Architecture experience within SMS\/communications platforms, and a clear understanding of transition architecture and how decisions in one domain (e.g. login\/authentication) ripple into others.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">You&#8217;ll be confident operating vendor-neutral, comfortable closing decisions across multiple stakeholder groups, and experienced enough to advise credibly on operating model considerations in a regulated environment.
