Oliver James are partnered with a specialist UK insurer who are looking for a Life or Pensions Qualified Actuary to join their Financial and Actuarial Team. <\/div>\n

Location: <\/strong>Central London x 3 days per week in the office<\/div>\n
Salary: <\/strong>\u00a380,000 – \u00a390,000 + 25% bonus – please note that salary will depend on experience and PQE. <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
This is a great opportunity to combine technical and commercial skills, liaising with different business units and gaining broad exposure across the wider business. You will work closely with the Finance, Origination, Risk and Investment, providing insight and analysis to support senior management and key business decisions. <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
You will be involved in the preparation of regular forecasts and business plans, supporting Solvency monitoring and business plan projections, as well as responding to ad-hoc queries from senior stakeholders and shareholders. There is also opportunity to support with the stress and scenario testing across the balance sheet. <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The ideal candidate: <\/strong><\/div>\n
    \n
  • \n
    Life\/Pensions Actuary (NNQ – 4 years PQE, but more experience welcome) <\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Good technical knowledge of financial reporting<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Commercially minded with the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Previous experience in a similar position would be highly desirable <\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

structuring initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>The role will be on an initial 6-month contract Inside IR35 and requires working in office two days per week in central London. <\/p>\n<p>Day rate is flexible for the right experience but will be around \u00a3700-800 p\/d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide international tax advice for supporting growth and structuring.<\/li>\n<li>Support design and implementation of cross-border structures in a tax efficient and compliant manner.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate input from external advisers and local specialists. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong international corporate tax experience in a large multinational group.<\/li>\n<li>Insurance experience highly preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to UK, US and European tax considerations preferable.<\/li>\n<li>Insurance and financial services preferred but not required as long as their is strong international tax You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, using financial insight to support business performance, identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the month-end close across multiple cost centres, including journals, P&L, balance sheet and reconciliations.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs for senior management.<\/li>\n<li>Analyse financial performance, identifying variances, trends, risks and opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver revenue and margin analysis by business unit and customer.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare regular P&L, balance sheet and working capital forecasts.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, providing clear commentary and insight.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee stock reporting and reconciliations and support effective working capital management.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial controls.<\/li>\n<li>Support internal and external audits.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and implement process improvements, automation and reporting efficiencies.<\/li>\n<li>Support ERP and finance technology development and implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Partner with Finance, Operations, customers and suppliers to monitor KPIs and improve business performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key requirements <\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Qualified Accountant – ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA., ideally 4+ years PQE<\/li>\n<li>Strong experience in management accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent Excel skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes is ideal.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with ERP systems and process improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and controls.<\/li>\n<li>Proven audit experience.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, distribution or supply chain would also be highly advantageous.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About You<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> You’ll be a <strong>commercially minded accountant<\/strong> who can go beyond the numbers and turn financial information into meaningful business insight.<\/p>\n<p> You’ll bring strong analytical and numerical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. This is a rare chance to join an established company at the start of a new capability. You’ll be among the first members of the team and will help shape how it operates, how it engages the business, and how it delivers value.<\/p>\n<p>New functions inside established organizations rarely open up. In this role you’ll have the stability and resources of a proven company along with the room to define the function from the ground up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Business Architect orchestrates the definition and maintenance of the current and target customer and internal user experience across the end-to-end journey. You’ll partner with IT architects, product managers and owners within the Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and internal business stakeholders to co-design processes, procedures, and systems that support the organization’s customer and user experience goals.<\/p>\n<p>You’ll act as a neutral coordinator and facilitator, making sure all parties have a voice and driving agreement on tradeoffs and decisions. The Business Architect team is newly formed to help simplify and connect work end to end and keep business and technology aligned around the desired customer experience. The team collaborates closely with the ARTs while operating as a separate, off-ART function.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Define and align the end-to-end experience by orchestrating a holistic future-state vision for customer and internal user experiences.<\/li>\n<li>Design and connect business processes by modeling and optimizing high-level processes and workflows to support a seamless, integrated experience.<\/li>\n<li>Drive alignment across teams and initiatives, serving as a connector across business, product, and technology functions so work stays cohesive, well-defined, and aligned to the long-term vision.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate collaboration and informed decision-making by leading discussions, surfacing tradeoffs, and helping leaders and teams align on the best path forward.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure consistency through change by reviewing and guiding process, system, and experience changes to maintain alignment with the desired future state.<\/li>\n<li>Partner closely with Business Owners and their delegates, Product Managers, Product Owners, Technical Architects, and Business Assessment and ART Delivery teams to maintain a shared understanding of the experience being designed and delivered.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with the Business Assessment team so strategic initiatives are shaped within the context of the future-state experience vision, and support alignment as work moves into delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, Technical Architects, and the Business Integration Team to help keep ART development aligned to the broader end-to-end vision, without directly owning execution.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with content and documentation partners so process documentation and experience artifacts remain current, consistent, and accessible as the business evolves.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to establishing the Business Architect team’s practices, engagement model, and ways of working as a founding member.<\/li>\n<li>Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>7+ years in business architecture, customer experience design, or enterprise process improvement<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in journey mapping, process modeling, and\/or operating model design<\/li>\n<li>Strong facilitation skills, with a track record of driving alignment across distributed stakeholder groups<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in agile frameworks (SAFe or similar)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to influence and guide decisions without formal authority<\/li>\n<li>Experience supporting enterprise transformation, digital initiatives, or strategic planning<\/li>\n<li>Solid understanding of enterprise domains (data, applications, technology) and how they relate to the business<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable collaborating with senior leaders and technical architects<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and critical thinking skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in a complex enterprise where the customer experience depends on cross-team coordination<\/li>\n<li>Experience facilitating cross-functional design sessions or roadmap alignment discussions<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of insurance<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with business architecture frameworks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Work Authorization<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants must not now, nor at any point in the future, require sponsorship for employment.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/counter.adcourier.com\/RW1pbHkuQmlyY2guMzMyNzguMTEzMDlAb2xpdmVyamFtZXNhc3NvY2lhdGVzLmFwbGl0cmFrLmNvbQ.gif\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About the Opportunity Our client, a well-established organization, is launching a new Business Architect function and is seeking an experienced Business Architect to help stand up the team.
