About the Opportunity<\/h3>\n

Our client is a growing insurance organization seeking a Controller to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting across multiple business units. This is a true Controller position with significant ownership of the accounting function, partnering closely with senior leadership and playing a key role in the continued growth of the organization.<\/p>\n

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on accounting leader who can manage a team, maintain strong financial controls, and operate effectively in a changing environment. This individual will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact while taking on increasing responsibility as the organization continues to grow.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple business units, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and statutory accounting requirements applicable to insurance organizations.<\/li>\n
  • Lead and develop a team of approximately four accounting professionals, providing direction, mentorship, and accountability.<\/li>\n
  • Establish strong communication and engagement across the accounting team, including effectively leading employees working remotely.<\/li>\n
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.<\/li>\n
  • Manage cash flow and short-term investment activity.<\/li>\n
  • Maintain banking relationships and oversee related financial activities.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate and support external audits.<\/li>\n
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and accounting processes.<\/li>\n
  • Compile and analyze policy and claims data in support of the reinsurance placement process.<\/li>\n
  • Partner with senior leadership on special projects, process improvements, and broader financial initiatives.<\/li>\n
  • Serve as a key accounting resource to the CFO and other members of the leadership team.<\/li>\n
  • Help foster a collaborative, accountable, and adaptable culture within the accounting function.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What We’re Looking For<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.<\/li>\n
    • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, with the depth and leadership experience appropriate for a Controller-level position.<\/li>\n
    • Strong GAAP and statutory accounting knowledge; insurance industry experience is strongly preferred.<\/li>\n
    • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or managing an accounting team.<\/li>\n
    • Experience managing or collaborating with remote\/hybrid employees is a strong plus.<\/li>\n
    • Public accounting experience is welcome, particularly for candidates looking to transition into an industry leadership role.<\/li>\n
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.<\/li>\n
    • Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented, with sound judgment and strong follow-through.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to manage competing priorities while remaining hands-on and engaged with the team.<\/li>\n
    • Comfortable working in an environment where priorities can evolve and where the Controller is expected to take ownership and drive initiatives forward.<\/li>\n
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to different personalities and situations.<\/li>\n
    • Independent and self-motivated, while also comfortable taking charge and providing direction when needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Location & Work Schedule<\/h3>\n

      This position is based in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, with a hybrid schedule requiring approximately 2-3 days per week in the office.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Je bent gedurende het hele implementatieproces betrokken: van het begrijpen van pensioenproducten en gebeurtenissen tot het bepalen van systeemgedrag en het ondersteunen bij de configuratie.<\/p>\n<p>Je vindt het interessant om met complexe vraagstukken te werken, neemt verantwoordelijkheid voor je werkzaamheden en voelt je prettig op het snijvlak van business, actuariaat en IT. projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Travel<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Significant travel required while working on client engagements.<\/li>\n<li>Work with clients across the United States.<\/li>\n<li>Engagements can provide the opportunity to become closely integrated with client teams.<\/li>\n<li>Travel arrangements and incentives provided based on engagement requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Qualifications<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.<\/li>\n<li>CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Strong public accounting or tax advisory background.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with complex tax engagements and multiple entity types.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and client-facing skills.<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel for infrastructure, preferably within AWS<\/li>\n<li>Design and maintain CI\/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automation and monitoring<\/li>\n<li>Develop LLMOps capabilities covering model deployment, prompt\/version management, evaluation, observability and guardrails<\/li>\n<li>Manage MLOps processes including model lifecycle management, deployment, monitoring, drift detection and retraining<\/li>\n<li>Establish repeatable deployment and promotion processes across development, test and production<\/li>\n<li>Optimise AI workloads for latency, scalability, reliability, token consumption and cost<\/li>\n<li>Implement appropriate security, access controls, data protection and governance<\/li>\n<li>Build reusable platform capabilities that allow application teams to integrate AI without managing the underlying infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Partner closely with application engineers, data\/AI teams, architects and external development partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>What we’re looking for:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Strong hands-on experience building and operating production AI\/ML infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Solid DevOps\/SRE background<\/li>\n<li>Experience with LLMOps and\/or MLOps in production environments<\/li>\n<li>Strong AWS and cloud engineering function.<\/p>\n<p>This is a great opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong insurance background to work on meaningful business change across a range of operational and commercial areas, including Underwriting, Claims and wider Insurance Operations.<\/p>\n<p>The role is particularly suited to someone who enjoys going beyond traditional requirements gathering – someone who can understand a business problem, challenge existing ways of working, identify opportunities for improvement and help drive change through to implementation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The opportunity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and delivery colleagues to:<\/p>\n<p>* Analyse end-to-end processes, operating models and customer journeys<br \/>* Identify inefficiencies, risks and opportunities for improvement<br \/>* Translate complex business problems into practical solutions and recommendations<br \/>* Facilitate workshops and engage stakeholders across business and technology<br \/>* Support transformation initiatives from discovery through to implementation<br \/>* Use data and analysis to identify trends, root causes and opportunities<br \/>* Contribute to process redesign, business readiness and operating model change<br \/>* Identify opportunities for automation, digitalisation and AI-enabled improvements<br \/>* Support UAT, implementation and benefits realisation<\/p>\n<p><strong>What we’re looking for<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>* Essential: experience within the insurance industry<br \/>* Strong experience delivering business change \/ transformation, rather than purely technical BA work<br \/>* Commercial insurance experience across areas such as Underwriting, Claims, Pricing, Operations, Distribution or Delegated Authority<br \/>* Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills<br \/>* Experience with process mapping, requirements analysis and business process improvement<br \/>* Comfortable using data to support analysis and decision making<br \/>* Exposure to tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Miro or similar would be beneficial<br \/>* A curious, commercially minded approach with the confidence to challenge existing processes and ways of working<\/p>\n<p>The organisation is also investing heavily in modern ways of working, including automation, data and AI, so this would suit a BA who is interested in how emerging technology can be applied to improve insurance processes and business outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Location: City of London<br \/>Working pattern: Hybrid – You will play an important role in identifying and managing technology and cyber risks, supporting regulatory compliance, coordinating audit activity and ensuring effective remediation of control gaps and vulnerabilities.<\/p>\n<h3>Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Support IT and cyber compliance across frameworks including <strong>DORA, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOX and Cyber Essentials<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Identify, assess and monitor IT, cyber, security and operational risks.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and develop the <strong>cyber risk register<\/strong>, tracking risks, issues and remediation activity.<\/li>\n<li>Support internal, external, regulatory and third-party audits, including evidence gathering and remediation tracking.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor emerging technology, cyber and operational resilience risks and escalate issues where appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Support <strong>third-party and supplier security assurance<\/strong>, including due diligence and remediation tracking.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate user access and privileged access reviews, supporting the transition towards automated access certification.<\/li>\n<li>Perform first-line compliance monitoring and control testing against information security policies and standards.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT risk, cyber security and compliance policies, standards and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare risk, control and remediation reporting for senior management and governance forums.<\/li>\n<li>Support the development and monitoring of relevant IT risk and compliance KPIs.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with breach notification, escalation and regulatory reporting activities where required.<\/li>\n<li>Support the delivery of cyber risk, governance and compliance awareness and training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>You will bring:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Strong knowledge of IT risk, governance, security and compliance frameworks.<\/li>\n<li>Experience supporting audits, regulatory reviews and compliance programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of infrastructure, applications, networking, cloud, vulnerability management, incident management and access controls.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with <strong>SOX \/ IT General Controls (ITGCs)<\/strong> would be advantageous.<\/li>\n<li>Experience within financial services, insurance or another regulated sector would be beneficial.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify control gaps and drive remediation.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical and risk-related matters to non-technical stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.<\/li>\n<li>Professional qualifications such as <strong>CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP or ISO 27001<\/strong> would be advantageous.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/counter.adcourier.com\/RW9pbi5LaXJ3YW4uNjMwNDEuMTEzMDlAb2xpdmVyamFtZXNhc3NvY2lhdGVzLmFwbGl0cmFrLmNvbQ.gif\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Cyber Governance, Risk & Compliance Analyst to support the ongoing development and oversight of IT governance, cyber risk and compliance across a regulated organisation. Finance, Actuarial, IT, regional business units and external implementation partners.<\/p>\n<p> This is not a passive project-tracking position. You will be expected to assess delivery updates critically, challenge plans and assumptions, identify risks and dependencies, and ensure that practical recovery actions are implemented when delivery moves off track.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain integrated project plans, milestones, baselines, dependencies and critical paths<\/li>\n<li>Review and challenge workstream plans, timelines, assumptions and resource requirements<\/li>\n<li>Identify schedule variances, delivery risks and cross-workstream dependencies<\/li>\n<li>Analyse project issues by assessing root cause, impact, available options and required actions<\/li>\n<li>Drive recovery actions and hold delivery owners accountable for agreed timelines<\/li>\n<li>Consolidate updates across Finance, Actuarial, IT, business and vendor workstreams<\/li>\n<li>Maintain RAID logs, action logs, decision registers and change-request records<\/li>\n<li>Prepare project dashboards, status reports and SteerCo materials<\/li>\n<li>Highlight key risks, decisions, escalations and areas requiring management attention<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate governance meetings, workshops, testing activities and planning sessions<\/li>\n<li>Monitor vendor deliverables, commitments and project milestones<\/li>\n<li>Maintain project documentation, approvals, sign-offs, meeting minutes and audit trails<\/li>\n<li>Support alignment across IFRS 17, IFRS 9, GL, financial reporting and regulatory reporting workstreams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <strong>Skills and Experience<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Approximately 3 to 5 years of experience in PMO, project management, consulting or transformation<\/li>\n<li><strong>MUST<\/strong> have exposure to IFRS 17, IFRS 9, insurance or regulatory transformation<\/li>\n<li>Experience working within a structured project-governance environment<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on experience maintaining project plans, RAID logs, action trackers, decision registers and SteerCo reporting<\/li>\n<li>Strong structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess root causes, impacts and recovery options<\/li>\n<li>Confidence challenging unrealistic delivery plans and following up with workstream owners<\/li>\n<li>Ability to identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies before they affect key milestones<\/li>\n<li>Experience coordinating across Finance, Actuarial, IT, business teams and external vendors<\/li>\n<li>Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with experience using Teams, SharePoint, Planner, Azure Boards or similar project tools<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder-management skills<\/li>\n<li>High attention to detail and a governance-focused mindset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The successful candidate will go beyond collecting project updates.
