The Opportunity<\/h3>\n

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Governance, Risk & Compliance Analyst<\/strong> to support the ongoing development and oversight of IT governance, risk and compliance across a regulated organisation.<\/p>\n

This is a broad role offering the opportunity to work closely with IT, Risk, Legal, Compliance and wider business stakeholders. You will play an important role in identifying and managing technology and risks, supporting regulatory compliance, coordinating audit activity and ensuring effective remediation of control gaps and vulnerabilities.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Support IT and cyber compliance across frameworks including DORA, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOX and Cyber Essentials<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • Identify, assess and monitor IT, cyber, security and operational risks.<\/li>\n
  • Maintain and develop the cyber risk register<\/strong>, tracking risks, issues and remediation activity.<\/li>\n
  • Support internal, external, regulatory and third-party audits, including evidence gathering and remediation tracking.<\/li>\n
  • Monitor emerging technology, cyber and operational resilience risks and escalate issues where appropriate.<\/li>\n
  • Support third-party and supplier security assurance<\/strong>, including due diligence and remediation tracking.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate user access and privileged access reviews, supporting the transition towards automated access certification.<\/li>\n
  • Perform first-line compliance monitoring and control testing against information security policies and standards.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT risk, cyber security and compliance policies, standards and procedures.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare risk, control and remediation reporting for senior management and governance forums.<\/li>\n
  • Support the development and monitoring of relevant IT risk and compliance KPIs.<\/li>\n
  • Assist with breach notification, escalation and regulatory reporting activities where required.<\/li>\n
  • Support the delivery of cyber risk, governance and compliance awareness and training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    You will bring:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Strong knowledge of IT risk, governance, security and compliance frameworks.<\/li>\n
    • Experience supporting audits, regulatory reviews and compliance programmes.<\/li>\n
    • Good understanding of infrastructure, applications, networking, cloud, vulnerability management, incident management and access controls.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with SOX \/ IT General Controls (ITGCs)<\/strong> would be advantageous.<\/li>\n
    • Experience within financial services, insurance or another regulated sector would be beneficial.<\/li>\n
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify control gaps and drive remediation.<\/li>\n
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical and risk-related matters to non-technical stakeholders.<\/li>\n
    • A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.<\/li>\n
    • Professional qualifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP or ISO 27001<\/strong> would be advantageous.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

This hands-on leadership role combines oversight of financial close, GAAP and statutory reporting with responsibility for strengthening controls, improving processes and supporting financial systems transformation.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>\n<p>Lead full-cycle accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Own month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Oversee the preparation and review of GAAP financial statements, statutory reporting and regulatory filings.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Partner with group finance and SEC reporting teams to deliver reporting requirements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Lead, develop and hold the accounting team accountable for performance and deadlines.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Establish consistent accounting procedures, strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Support financial systems upgrades and guide the accounting function through change.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What We’re Looking For<\/h2>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>\n<p>Strong insurance accounting experience, ideally within life, health or supplemental health.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Proven statutory reporting expertise; experience with NAIC Blue, Yellow or Orange Books is required.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Strong GAAP knowledge and full-cycle accounting experience.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Previous people management experience and a hands-on leadership approach.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Ability to improve close processes and consistently meet reporting deadlines.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Public company reporting exposure and ERP implementation experience are advantageous.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What’s on Offer<\/h2>\n<p>A visible leadership opportunity with ownership of the accounting function, close collaboration with senior finance leaders and the ability to shape processes within a growing business.<\/p>\n<p>The role is primarily office-based. organization to recruit an experienced accounting leader.<\/p>\n<p>You will own the day-to-day accounting function, manage a team of approximately four to five professionals and partner with senior finance leadership. The role combines responsibility for financial close, GAAP and statutory reporting with opportunities to improve processes and support financial systems transformation.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Oversee full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Prepare and review GAAP financial statements, statutory reporting and regulatory filings.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Coordinate with group finance and SEC reporting teams.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Manage and develop the accounting team.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Strengthen accounting controls, standardize processes and support financial systems upgrades.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What We’re Looking For<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Strong insurance accounting experience, ideally within life, health or supplemental health.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Proven statutory reporting expertise; experience with NAIC Blue, Yellow or Orange Books is welcome.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Strong GAAP knowledge and full-cycle accounting experience.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Previous people management experience and a hands-on leadership approach.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Ability to improve close processes and consistently meet reporting deadlines.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Public company reporting exposure and ERP implementation experience are advantageous.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What’s on Offer<\/h2>\n<p>A visible leadership role with ownership of the accounting function, exposure to senior finance leaders and the opportunity to shape processes within a growing business.<\/p>\n<p>The role is primarily office-based. This role oversees day-to-day accounting processes, supports strategic financial initiatives, and partners closely with executive leadership, auditors, actuaries, and internal teams. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, operational leadership ability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.<\/p>\n<p>Skills and Experience<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including oversight of accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls.<\/li>\n<li>Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, Statutory accounting principles, NAIC reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance.<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience managing general ledger processes, financial statement preparation, budgeting, and investment reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with financial software, process management, audit coordination, and performance management.<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA required. Underwriters, Claims\/ Legal Professionals with at least five years of coverage experience may also be considered.<\/li>\n<li>Extensive knowledge of surplus lines and admitted insurance standards, practices and principles.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of optimizing insurance policy wording and features to lines of business.<\/li>\n<li>Reinsurance contract wording experience a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent analytical and communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>High attention to detail and accuracy.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaborate with colleagues within and across departments.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent technology skills, including Word, Adobe, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook. They’re keen to speak with people who have helped organisations navigate transformation, improve risk frameworks and manage evolving regulatory expectations.<\/p>\n<p>The role offers a broad remit across enterprise risk management, governance and regulatory oversight, with the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and influence how risk is managed across the business.<\/p>\n<p>The focus will include:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>\n<p>Improving risk management frameworks and governance processes across the Group.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Supporting senior-level risk discussions and ensuring reporting provides meaningful insight to decision-makers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Contributing to regulatory requirements, including PRA expectations and ORSA.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Reviewing and enhancing risk policies, controls and governance arrangements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Helping deliver change initiatives and ensuring risk frameworks remain effective as the business develops.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I’m particularly interested in speaking with people who have a background in Group Risk, Enterprise Risk Management or Risk Governance within life insurance.<\/p>\n<p>Experience of transformation programmes, acquisitions or post-acquisition integration would be especially relevant.
