Oliver James is partnering with an established global insurance organization seeking an Internal Auditor to join its North America Internal Audit team.<\/p>\n

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career audit professional looking to develop their experience within the insurance industry while gaining exposure to a broad range of business processes, operational risks, and internal controls.<\/p>\n

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced audit professionals, supporting the execution of risk-based audits while taking ownership of assigned audit activities throughout the audit lifecycle.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

* Participate in the planning and execution of internal audits across financial, operational, and compliance-related business processes.<\/p>\n

* Perform risk assessments, identify key controls, and develop audit testing procedures to evaluate control effectiveness.<\/p>\n

* Execute assigned audit testing independently, including walkthroughs, control evaluations, and documentation of results.<\/p>\n

* Identify control deficiencies, assess potential risks, and contribute to recommendations for process and control improvements.<\/p>\n

* Prepare and maintain audit workpapers, supporting documentation, and audit findings in accordance with established methodologies.<\/p>\n

* Work closely with business stakeholders to understand processes, discuss audit observations, and support the resolution of identified issues.<\/p>\n

* Utilize data analytics and other audit tools to support audit scoping, testing, and analysis.<\/p>\n

* Support multiple audit engagements while ensuring assigned work is completed within established timelines.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Ideal Background<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

* 1-3+ years of experience in Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk Advisory, or a related assurance function.<\/p>\n

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.<\/p>\n

* Experience evaluating internal controls, documenting business processes, and performing audit testing.<\/p>\n

* Understanding of risk-based auditing, financial and operational processes, and internal control frameworks.<\/p>\n

* Ability to independently execute assigned audit procedures, analyze findings, and communicate results effectively.<\/p>\n

* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.<\/p>\n

* Experience within insurance or the broader financial services industry is a plus, but not required.<\/p>\n

* Familiarity with data analytics tools or audit software is advantageous.<\/p>\n

* Progress toward a CIA, CPA, or other relevant professional certification is preferred.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

organization.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will inherit an established audit team while having the opportunity to assess and enhance existing processes, expand audit coverage, and drive improvements across the function.<\/p>\n<p>This position offers significant exposure to executive leadership and Board-level stakeholders, along with the opportunity to play a key role in the organization’s continued growth.<\/p>\n<h3>Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>\n<p>Lead and oversee the Internal Audit function, including the development and execution of a comprehensive, risk-based audit strategy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Assess and enhance existing audit methodologies, processes, and frameworks to support the organization’s evolving needs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Oversee financial, operational, regulatory, compliance, and technology-focused audits across the organization.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Provide independent assurance and recommendations to executive leadership and Board-level stakeholders on internal controls, governance, and risk management.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Lead, mentor, and develop an established audit team, identifying opportunities to strengthen capabilities and support future growth.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Strengthen IT Audit coverage, including technology risks, cybersecurity, and IT general controls.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Partner with senior leaders across Finance, Operations, Technology, and other business functions to identify emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Support the continued development and maturity of the Internal Audit function, including enhancements to reporting, data analytics, and audit practices.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3> <\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Requirements <\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>\n<p>15+ years of progressive experience across Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk Management, or related assurance functions, including significant leadership experience.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Must have insurance industry experience, preferably within Property & Casualty insurance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Demonstrated experience leading Internal Audit teams, audit programs, or significant audit engagements within complex organizations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Broad understanding of financial, operational, regulatory, and technology risks, with exposure to IT Audit, cybersecurity, and technology controls.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Proven ability to engage and influence senior executives and communicate effectively with Board-level stakeholders.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Experience developing or enhancing Internal Audit functions, including audit methodologies, team capabilities, and risk-based audit planning.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Must <\/strong><strong>have e<\/strong><strong>xperience within publicly traded organization – Public Accounting exposure highly desirable <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>CPA preferred; CIA, CISA, or other relevant professional certifications are a plus.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div> <\/div>\n<div><strong>Location:<\/strong> Ohio; candidates must be based locally or willing to Je krijgt de ruimte om kansen te signaleren, idee\u00ebn aan te dragen en verbeteringen zelf op te pakken.<\/p>\n<p>Je sluit aan bij een financeteam waarbij de cultuur informeel is, de lijnen kort zijn en initiatief wordt gewaardeerd. Business Control en Financial Control zijn duidelijk van elkaar gescheiden. Hierdoor kun jij je richten op analyse, advies en de samenwerking met de operatie.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jouw rol<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Als Business Controller Operations ben je de financi\u00eble sparringpartner van de Director Operations en de vestigingsmanagers. Je onderzoekt hoe de operatie presteert, bespreekt afwijkingen en helpt managers om onderbouwde keuzes te maken.<\/p>\n<p>Je werkzaamheden bestaan onder andere uit:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>\n<p>Opstellen en bewaken van budgetten en forecasts.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Analyseren van financi\u00eble resultaten en operationele KPI’s.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Vertalen van afwijkingen tussen budget en realisatie naar concrete adviezen.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Signaleren van risico’s, besparingsmogelijkheden en verbeterkansen.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Opstellen en beoordelen van businesscases.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Kritisch toetsen van aannames, plannen en bestaande werkwijzen.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Je schakelt met collega’s op de werkvloer tot aan de CFO. The role is an initial 12-month contract, Outside IR35. It is hybrid, with approx 2-3 days per week onsite in London.<\/p>\n<p>The business is currently in the discovery phase of a significant <strong>CenataSure implementation<\/strong>, focused on ceded reinsurance. to strengthen controls, improve monitoring processes and optimize compliance rules. <\/li>\n<li>Partner with investment professionals, trading, legal, risk and operations teams to resolve complex issues and support business objectives. <\/li>\n<li>Drive automation, data-led improvements and emerging AI-enabled solutions. <\/li>\n<li>Develop and mentor a team, setting clear objectives and <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What we’re looking for<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Direct experience in <strong>Investment Compliance<\/strong>, ideally within an asset manager or a buy-side investment environment. <\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of investment guidelines, portfolio restrictions and monitoring processes. <\/li>\n<li>Experience leading, developing and motivating a team. <\/li>\n<li>A The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of Workers’ Compensation regulations, experience interacting with insurance regulators, and a practical, business-oriented approach to compliance.<\/p>\n<h2>General Responsibilities<\/h2>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Ensure that business processes, products, systems, and procedures comply with applicable insurance laws, regulations, and internal requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a subject matter expert on Workers’ Compensation regulatory requirements, providing guidance to internal stakeholders and supporting other commercial P&C lines as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor regulatory developments and communicate changes to relevant business teams, identifying necessary updates to policies, procedures, and operational practices.<\/li>\n<li>Support the development and implementation of market conduct compliance strategies, conducting regular reviews, audits, and assessments to identify potential issues and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.<\/li>\n<li>Partner with legal and compliance stakeholders to investigate, address, and resolve market conduct concerns and other regulatory matters.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate regulatory reporting requirements across underwriting, claims, operations, technology, legal, and other business functions.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the collection, validation, analysis, and submission of regulatory data, including Medicare-related reporting, electronic data interchange (EDI), industry data calls, and other applicable reporting obligations.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain relationships with relevant insurance bureaus and industry organizations to support accurate reporting and ongoing compliance.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with third-party claims administrators and external service providers to ensure regulatory requirements are understood and appropriately addressed.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with technology teams and external vendors on data governance, reporting processes, and related compliance initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate existing compliance processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and regulatory oversight.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct periodic reviews of regulatory requirements and assess the effectiveness of related compliance controls and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, process documentation, and supporting materials.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to broader compliance initiatives and provide additional support as business needs evolve.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Qualifications & Experience<\/h2>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.<\/li>\n<li><strong>10+ years of experience within the P&C insurance industry<\/strong>, with a focus on regulatory compliance, market conduct, or related regulatory functions.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working within a property and casualty insurance organization.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience supporting market conduct compliance, regulatory reviews, audits, or examinations.<\/li>\n<li>Experience interacting with state insurance regulators and coordinating regulatory responses.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with Workers’ Compensation reporting requirements, industry data calls, and relevant insurance bureaus.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with regulatory data, reporting systems, and cross-functional business stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and operate effectively in a hands-on, evolving environment.<\/li>\n<li>A high level of accountability, attention to detail, integrity, and a practical, solutions-oriented approach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are unable to offer visa sponsorship at this time, eligible candidates must be a US Citizen or green card holder at the time of application. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/counter.adcourier.com\/QW5nZWxhLkJyZW5kemEuMDE0OTUuMTEzMDlAb2xpdmVyamFtZXNhc3NvY2lhdGVzLmFwbGl0cmFrLmNvbQ.gif\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About the Opportunity A growing commercial insurance organization is seeking an experienced, commercially minded Regulatory Compliance Manager to join its compliance function, with a primary focus on Workers’ Compensation and additional exposure to other property and casualty lines. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced, evolving environment where you can take ownership of reporting processes, work cross-functionally, and help improve how regulatory data is managed and delivered.<\/p>\n<p>The ideal candidate combines experience in insurance regulatory reporting with strong SQL and data analysis skills, supporting accurate reporting across multiple jurisdictions.<\/p>\n<h3>Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>\n<p>Extract, query, and analyze large datasets using SQL and Snowflake to support regulatory reporting and operational requirements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Support US and Canadian insurance reporting requirements, including state-specific premium tax and surplus lines reporting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Prepare, validate, and reconcile premium and policy data to ensure accuracy and completeness ahead of regulatory submissions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Investigate data discrepancies, resolve reporting issues, and implement improvements to data quality and monitoring controls.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams to deliver accurate reporting data and support regulatory initiatives.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes, improve operational efficiency, and support automation initiatives.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Take ownership of reporting activities, manage competing deadlines, and contribute to continuous improvement across the function.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Experience & Qualifications<\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>\n<p>Experience in insurance regulatory reporting, ideally within commercial Property & Casualty insurance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Strong SQL skills and experience working with Snowflake or a similar data warehouse.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Experience extracting, filtering, validating, and reconciling large datasets.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Understanding of insurance premium data and state-level regulatory reporting requirements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Exposure to surplus lines reporting, premium tax filings, or related state-specific insurance reporting is highly desirable.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Experience across commercial property, general liability, workers’ compensation, commercial auto, or commercial package policies would be beneficial.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>A proactive, adaptable approach, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables in a changing environment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>The Opportunity<\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>\n<p>Join a growing specialty insurance business with an evolving operational and data infrastructure.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Take ownership of important regulatory reporting processes across North America.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Compliance, Legal, and Operations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Contribute ideas, improve existing processes, and support the development of more efficient, automated reporting capabilities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note that this position is unable to offer visa sponsorship or support visa transfers; candidates must already have US Citizenship or a greencard at the time of application.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/counter.adcourier.com\/QW5nZWxhLkJyZW5kemEuNzAxOTguMTEzMDlAb2xpdmVyamFtZXNhc3NvY2lhdGVzLmFwbGl0cmFrLmNvbQ.gif\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Regulatory Reporting Analyst We’re partnering with a growing specialty insurance business to recruit a Regulatory Reporting Analyst to support its North American operations.
