This key leadership role is vital in ensuring the integrity and robustness of our financial controls, supporting effective risk management, and safeguarding the quality and compliance of our financial reporting.<\/p>\n<p>In this role, you&#8217;ll work closely with Finance leadership, 2nd-line risk functions, external auditors, and regulators to embed best practices, develop controls, and promote a risk-aware environment across the organisation. You&#8217;ll be instrumental in supporting the implementation of risk mitigation strategies, managing controls, and ensuring audit readiness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you&#8217;ll be doing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead initiatives to embed a strong risk culture across all Finance teams by promoting awareness of risk management principles and best practices.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with Finance leadership to identify, develop, and support risk champions within each business area, providing guidance for proactive risk management.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the development and maintenance of the Risk &amp; Controls Matrix, ensuring it accurately maps key processes and controls across the organisation.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate risk and control self-assessments, participate in scenario workshops, and support calculation of operational risk capital requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Organise annual process reviews to assess control effectiveness, identify emerging risks, and ensure controls stay current and effective.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate periodic control attestations, supporting controls owners in documenting procedures, risks, reports, and EUCs in line with standards.<\/li>\n<li>Drive the timely implementation of remediation plans, tracking progress and escalating issues early to ensure deadlines are met.<\/li>\n<li>Support embedding risk management and control principles into projects, system changes, and automation initiatives, ensuring compliance with IFC standards and effective risk mitigation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What you&#8217;ll bring:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven experience in risk management, controls, or audit within a financial services or insurance environment.<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership skills with a proactive approach to embedding a risk culture and driving continuous improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Deep understanding of financial controls, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple teams and external bodies.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in developing and maintaining control frameworks, including control attestations and documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex risk issues clearly to senior management and regulators.<\/li>\n<li>A highly organised and disciplined approach, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/counter.adcourier.com\/SmFtaWUuRG91ZGllLjEyNjg0LjExMzA5QG9saXZlcmphbWVzYXNzb2NpYXRlcy5hcGxpdHJhay5jb20.gif\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Finance Risk &amp; Controls Manager Job Description We&#8217;re seeking an experienced and proactive UK Financial Risk and Controls Manager to lead our efforts in fostering a strong risk culture within the Finance function. Enforce consistent methodologies across the portfolio. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Stakeholder Management<\/strong>:<br \/> Engage and influence senior stakeholders within the organization, including executives and business leaders. Navigate complex stakeholder relationships and confidently uphold project management standards during high-pressure situations. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Portfolio Management<\/strong>:<br \/> Oversee the management of a portfolio of projects, ensuring transparency, prioritization, efficiency, and compliance. Provide regular updates on performance, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Project Standards &amp; Delivery Assurance<\/strong>:<br \/> Define and implement standards for planning, execution, and reporting. It is a strong fit for someone who understands the insurance distribution landscape, can operate confidently in complex stakeholder environments, and is comfortable translating business needs into practical solutions.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Partner with senior stakeholders across Agency, Distribution, FP&amp;A, and Performance Management to gather, challenge, and refine business requirements<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with business leaders to understand current pain points, target operating needs, and performance objectives<\/li>\n<li>Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for technology and implementation teams<\/li>\n<li>Act as a bridge between business users and delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle<\/li>\n<li>Support solution design, process mapping, gap analysis, and business change activities<\/li>\n<li>Help ensure the delivered solution reflects the needs of senior business users and supports adoption across the function<\/li>\n<li>Navigate a complex stakeholder environment, balancing priorities across multiple senior decision-makers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <strong>Requirements<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Around 10 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, Consultant, or similar role<\/li>\n<li>Strong experience within insurance, with particular exposure to Agency and Distribution projects<\/li>\n<li>Proven track record of working on business transformation, system implementation, or platform change initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Ability to engage credibly with very senior stakeholders, including C-suite and business heads<\/li>\n<li>Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence and maturity to manage differing views and internal politics<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with cross-functional teams including finance, performance management, and business leadership<\/li>\n<li>Fluent Cantonese and English are essential<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Background<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience gained within a Tier 1 insurer, top-tier consulting firm, or large-scale transformation environment<\/li>\n<li>Big Four consulting background with strong insurance project exposure would be highly advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of agency performance, distribution management, and business planning processes within insurance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What This Role Offers<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exposure to a strategically important transformation programme<\/li>\n<li>Direct interaction with senior business leadership<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to play a visible role in shaping how a major insurer drives agency performance and decision-making<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/counter.adcourier.com\/RXZnZW55LlZvbHlhbmlrLjY5MDM3LjExMzA5QG9saXZlcmphbWVzYXNzb2NpYXRlcy5hcGxpdHJhay5jb20.gif\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are partnering with a leading international insurer to appoint an experienced Transformation Lead to support a high-profile transformation initiative across the Agency and Distribution function.
