Overview:

The team is focused on modernizing operational workflows, improving straight-through processing, and reducing manual intervention through scalable automation and integration solutions.
A key focus is workflow orchestration and backend engineering to support retirement decisioning, system integrations, and enterprise automation initiatives across highly connected platforms.
Role Purpose:
- The Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and support scalable, cloud-native workflow and automation applications that power critical retirement business processes.
- The role is heavily focused on backend engineering, API integrations, and workflow orchestration, enabling straight-through processing and modernizing operational systems across the enterprise.
- This position requires strong technical execution in AWS while collaborating closely with business and engineering stakeholders to deliver reliable, production-grade solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable, secure automated workflow applications supporting retirement operations
- Build and maintain cloud-native solutions using microservices, containers, and serverless AWS services
- Develop API integrations and backend services across enterprise systems
- Support workflow automation and straight-through processing initiatives to reduce manual work
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices
- Troubleshoot production issues and participate in root cause analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated automation solutions
- Support system onboarding and migration activities across platforms
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices
In Order to Be Successful:
- Strong experience in backend engineering, workflow automation, and system integration within complex enterprise environments is essential.
- Candidates should have hands-on experience with Python and/or Node.js, AWS cloud-native development, APIs, and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience in insurance, retirement services, or regulated financial services environments is highly beneficial, particularly where automation and operational efficiency have been key priorities.
