We are seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to support quality engineering initiatives across a portfolio of enterprise applications within the insurance technology space. This role focuses on designing and implementing scalable test automation solutions for cloud-based platforms, policy administration systems, APIs, and web applications.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and QA teams to strengthen automation practices, improve test coverage, and help deliver reliable, high-quality software across the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop test automation for Binding Authority, DuckCreek Policy & Billing, Portals (external and internal), Underwriting Desktop, Forms, and workflow integrations (e.g., ImageRight).
- Maintaining and enhancing existing inventory of automated regression test suites built using TAC/Regression Runner (for DuckCreek), AccelQ (for Portals, Binding Authority)
- Implement automation strategies that support functional, regression, and end-to-end testing
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA engineers to define testing approaches and automation scope
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery practices
- Improve test coverage, test data management, and overall automation reliability
- Maintain and enhance existing automation scripts and frameworks
- Identify opportunities to streamline testing processes and reduce manual testing efforts
- Support automation for web applications, APIs, and microservices-based systems
- Track and report testing metrics to help measure product quality and release readiness
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and other Agile ceremonies
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation failures or environment-related issues
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in software testing and test automation
- Experience in the insurance space (P+C experience preferred)
- Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks
- Experience testing web applications, REST APIs, and microservices architectures
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies
- Experience using test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira or similar)
- Strong understanding of test strategy, test planning, and defect management
- Experience working with cloud-based platforms and modern application stacks
- Knowledge of SQL or other database technologies for validation and test data management
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
