Title: Senior Python Platform Engineer

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid, 3 days on site)

Salary: $170,000 – $200,000

We’re partnered with a fast-growing consulting and technology firm that’s building out its U.S. engineering team to support large-scale initiatives across capital markets and enterprise data platforms.

They’re looking for a Senior Python Platform Engineer to help design and build high-performance data systems that power real-time analytics and critical business workflows.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and scale Python-based services that handle large volumes of data in distributed environments
  • Design and optimize ETL pipelines for both batch and real-time processing
  • Develop event-driven systems using modern messaging and streaming technologies (Kafka, AMPS, or similar)
  • Work on low-latency, high-throughput platforms that support mission-critical applications
  • Partner with engineering teams to define architecture, improve performance, and solve complex system challenges

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python, including async programming and concurrency
  • Proven background building and optimizing data pipelines at scale
  • Experience working with messaging systems / pub-sub architectures
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and system design
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, collaborative engineering environments

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to financial services or trading environments
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Background in performance tuning and large-scale data processing
