About the Role:
Our client, a leading bank, is seeking a skilled Cyber Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract. This is a fully remote opportunity, offering the chance to work on critical cybersecurity initiatives that protect key banking systems and sensitive data. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the bank’s security posture, identifying risks, and implementing robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions across the organization.
  • Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to improve infrastructure resilience.
  • Conduct security assessments, threat modeling, and risk analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security standards, policies, and frameworks.
  • Provide guidance on security best practices and mitigation strategies.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Cyber Engineer, Cybersecurity Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of network, cloud, and application security.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM, firewalls, endpoint protection, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, DORA).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in the banking or financial services sector.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Sentinel, IBM QRadar, or similar SIEM platforms.
  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation and reporting.
