Role Overview
Our client, the investment arm of a leading insurance group, is looking for an experienced PM/BA to support a portfolio of investment technology and operational change initiatives.
This role will sit within the post-implementation phase of a newly launched investment platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing incoming change requests, enhancements, and new project requirements across areas such as investment data, operations, custodians, and front-office platform support.
The role requires someone who can operate as a hybrid PM/BA: able to understand business needs, challenge and prioritise requests, structure the book of work, and then drive implementation through to delivery.
Change Request & Enhancement Management
* Act as the central point of contact for business users, operations, technology teams, and external vendors on platform enhancements and change requests.
* Consolidate incoming requests from different stakeholders across investment operations, data, custodian, and front office teams.
* Assess, challenge, and prioritise requests based on business impact, operational urgency, technical feasibility, and platform stability.
* Support the creation and management of a clear book of work for post-implementation enhancements.
Business Analysis
* Work closely with business users to understand requirements and translate them into clear functional specifications or delivery requirements.
* Review current workflows and identify opportunities to improve platform usage, operational efficiency, and data quality.
* Support UAT planning, test case preparation, defect management, and user sign-off.
* Ensure requirements are clearly documented and aligned with business objectives.
Project Delivery & Implementation
* Lead the implementation of approved enhancements, change requests, and follow-on investment technology projects.
* Manage project plans, timelines, dependencies, risks, issues, and stakeholder communications.
* Coordinate across business, technology, vendor, operations, and data teams to ensure successful delivery.
* Ensure changes are delivered in a controlled manner with appropriate testing, documentation, and business readiness.
* Track delivery progress and provide regular status updates to senior stakeholders.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
* Engage with internal stakeholders across investment, front office, operations, data, technology, and change teams.
* Work with external vendors or system providers where required.
* Facilitate workshops, requirement discussions, prioritisation sessions, and project governance meetings.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders while maintaining appropriate challenge and delivery discipline.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Project Manager, Business Analyst, or hybrid PM/BA within investment management, asset management, insurance investment, banking, or financial services.
* Strong experience delivering investment technology, investment operations, data, platform enhancement, or system implementation projects.
* Demonstrable track record of driving implementation from requirements through to delivery.
* Experience working on post-implementation enhancement phases, change request management, or platform stabilisation would be highly beneficial.
* Strong understanding of investment operations, investment data, front office workflows, custodians, or related investment platforms.
* Experience with one or more of the following platforms would be highly preferred:
* Bloomberg AIM
* Charles River
* BlackRock Aladdin
* Eagle EDM or other investment management, portfolio management, order management, or investment data platforms
* Strong business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process mapping, documentation, UAT coordination, and stakeholder management.
* Strong project management discipline, including planning, RAID management, governance, reporting, and delivery tracking.
* Ability to challenge business requests constructively and help prioritise based on business value and operational impact.
* Comfortable working in a complex stakeholder environment across business, technology, vendors, and senior management.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to translate between business and technical teams.
