Manager of Accounting – Life Insurance Industry
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.-Based)

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Manager of Accounting to join a growing life insurance organization in a fully remote leadership role. This position will oversee key accounting operations, support financial reporting processes, and partner closely with executive leadership, external auditors, and the Board on critical financial matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and review financial reporting packages for executive leadership and the Board
• Partner with external auditors and support annual audit activities
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable insurance industry accounting standards
• Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and accounting policy implementation
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and executive leadership teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Minimum 3+ years of people management experience
• Strong experience managing month-end and year-end close processes
• Prior experience within public accounting and/or the insurance industry is highly advantageous
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience preparing reporting for senior leadership or Board-level audiences
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment
• CPA or CPA-track candidates preferred, but not required
