Location: Remote or Florida based.

Compensation: Competitive base + bonus (flexible)

The Opportunity and Why This Role Exists

A high‑growth, entrepreneurial E&S platform supported by a large, uniquely positioned parent company, is expanding its Property segment and seeking a Director‑level actuarial leader to drive pricing strategy, market positioning, and long‑term growth. This is a confidential opening due to expansion, not turnover.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in entrepreneurial environments, enjoys building from the ground up, and wants to shape the future of a Property portfolio through market cycles, especially as the Property market continues to soften and requires sharp judgment on when to lean in versus pull back.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead pricing strategy for the Property E&S segment, including rate adequacy, segmentation, and portfolio steering.
  • Manage and mentor a direct report, with the opportunity to grow the team as the segment scales.
  • Build pricing frameworks, tools, and models to support profitable growth.
  • Partner with underwriting leadership to navigate market cycles, evaluate opportunities, and support disciplined risk selection.
  • Develop catastrophe modeling insights, including event‑level analytics, tail risk understanding, and capital impact.
  • Drive innovation in pricing methodology, data usage, and portfolio analytics.
  • Influence strategic decisions at the executive level in a high‑visibility role.

Required Qualifications

  • ACAS or FCAS credential
  • Minimum 5 years of pricing experience; 10+ years strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in the E&S space, ideally with Property focus.
  • Strong understanding of catastrophe models, cat risk, and property pricing dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally with underwriting and leadership teams.
  • Experience in building, not just maintaining, pricing infrastructure.

What Makes This Role Stand Out

  • High‑growth environment – join a company scaling rapidly with significant capital support.
  • Entrepreneurial culture – freedom to build, innovate, and shape the future of the Property segment.
  • Leadership impact – manage a direct report and influence strategy.
  • Unique parent‑company backing – stability + agility.
  • Market‑cycle strategy – help determine when to expand or contract in a softening Property market.
  • Catastrophe expertise – shape how the company interprets and prices cat risk.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A senior actuarial leader who wants more ownership, more influence, and more creativity than traditional carriers allow.
  • Someone energized by building, not inheriting.
  • A strategic thinker who understands macro market cycles, cat risk, and pricing discipline.
  • A mentor who enjoys developing actuarial talent.
  • A collaborator who thrives in a fast‑moving, entrepreneurial environment.
