About the Job
Our client, a growing property & casualty insurer ($2B+ general account AUM), is looking to hire an Investment Portfolio Analyst to join their in-house investment team in Florida. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement and significant growth opportunity, including the expectation to build and lead a team over time.
Responsibilities
- Monitor portfolio positioning across investment grade fixed income and private market investments relative to asset allocation targets, risk limits, and liability characteristics.
- Produce monthly and quarterly reporting, including investment committee memos and senior management presentations.
- Support statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, including NAIC filings and Schedule BA reporting.
- Oversee onboarding and ongoing monitoring of private market investments, including capital calls, distributions, and documentation.
- Manage external manager relationships across public and private asset classes, including participation in performance and diligence calls.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative due diligence on new investment opportunities, particularly in private credit and private equity.
- Assist with cash flow management, capital deployment, and liquidity planning in alignment with liability-driven objectives.
- Contribute to portfolio strategy, scenario analysis, and ALM-related initiatives as the portfolio scales.
Qualifications
- 4-6 years of experience in investments, asset management, or insurance, with direct exposure to fixed income and general account management.
- Working knowledge of insurance investment considerations, including statutory accounting, RBC capital requirements, and asset-liability management – P&C experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with investment grade credit, structured products, and private markets (private credit, private equity).
- Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; experience preparing IC-level presentations and reporting.
- Understanding of regulatory and reporting frameworks relevant to insurance portfolios.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface across investment, actuarial, finance, and senior leadership.
- Self-starter with the ability to operate independently in a lean team environment.
- Progress toward CFA, CAIA, or equivalent designation is a plus.
