Role Summary

Our client, a leading asset management backed insurance organization. They are seeking an Assistant Treasurer to support the strategic treasury function across capital markets, liquidity management, funding agreements, and enterprise financing initiatives. This is a senior leadership role with high visibility across executive management and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will bring deep treasury and capital markets experience within the life insurance industry, along with strong exposure to ratings agencies, banking relationships, and balance sheet strategy. Life insurance experience is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support enterprise treasury strategy, capital planning, and liquidity management initiatives.
  • Lead funding agreement activity, financing transactions, and capital markets execution.
  • Manage relationships with banks, rating agencies, and external financing partners.
  • Partner with executive leadership on balance sheet optimization and liquidity solutions.
  • Oversee liquidity analysis, funding requirements, and cash forecasting activities.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Investments, Risk, and Actuarial teams on treasury initiatives.
  • Lead and develop treasury managers and broader team members.
  • Prepare executive-level reporting and materials related to capital, liquidity, and financing activity.
  • Drive process improvements and strengthen treasury infrastructure and controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
  • CPA and/or CFA preferred.
  • 12+ years of Treasury, Capital Markets, or Corporate Finance experience within insurance or financial services.
  • Life insurance industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of liquidity management, funding structures, capital planning, and balance sheet strategy.
  • Experience managing relationships with rating agencies and banking partners.
  • Proven leadership experience managing managers and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication and executive stakeholder management skills.
