Business Analyst – Insurance Core System

We are working with a leading multinational insurance client in Kuala Lumpur to hire a Business Analyst for a strategic AI-powered underwriting transformation project. In this role, you will act as the bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring that AI/ML solutions are aligned with underwriting goals and regulatory requirements.

You will play a key role in shaping how data-driven automation enhances underwriting speed, accuracy, and customer insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with underwriters, data scientists, developers, and project managers to gather and document business and technical requirements.
  • Translate complex underwriting processes into functional specifications for AI/ML implementation.
  • Conduct process mapping, gap analysis, and propose automation improvements.
  • Collaborate in the design and testing of AI models, ensuring they meet business expectations and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare UAT test plans, support testing phases, and validate AI model outcomes against business rules.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in insurance, fintech, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of underwriting workflows, risk assessment, and insurance product structures.
  • Experience working on AI/ML, digital transformation, or automation projects is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in tools like JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or BPMN for documentation and process modeling.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; Chinese language skills are a plus.
