Mainframe Developer – COBOL / DB2 / IBM MQ

We are currently looking for a Mainframe Developer to join a well-established technical team working on critical payment applications within a large-scale enterprise environment in Belgium.

You will join a senior team responsible for both daily operations and project-based developments.

Your Responsibilities

Develop and maintain mainframe applications in a COBOL environment
Work on both Run and Project activities within a Scrum organisation
Participate in technical analysis activities alongside Functional Analysts
Manage and evolve applications related to payment systems
Work in Batch and Online environments
Collaborate closely with experienced developers and cross-functional teams

Technical Environment

Mainframe COBOL (non-Micro Focus)
DB2
IBM MQ / IBM Message Queue
JCL / Batch processing
CICS (basic notions are sufficient)
Java / Eclipse knowledge is considered a plus

Profile

Experience in Mainframe development environments
Good knowledge of COBOL and DB2
Familiarity with asynchronous communication systems using IBM MQ
Comfortable working on technical analyses
Team player with good communication skills
Open to junior and mid-level profiles

Languages

English is mandatory
Plus one national language (French or Dutch)
Passive understanding of the second national language is appreciated
