Controller | Fully Remote (US) | High-Growth Health / Insurance Platform
We are partnering with a rapidly scaling, privately held business in the health / insurance services space to appoint a Controller. This is a fully remote role within a ~60-person organisation that has doubled in size over the past year and continues to grow quickly.
Operating within the TPA ecosystem, the business sits between insurers and end clients, with a technology-enabled model and multiple product lines. With this growth, they are now strengthening their finance function with a senior, hands-on hire.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CFO, this is a true number two position with ownership of day-to-day accounting and exposure to leadership.
The CFO is looking for someone who can take ownership and create bandwidth for more strategic focus. The environment is evolving, with solid foundations in place but clear scope to improve processes, reporting, and structure.
The Role
You will manage accounting operations, oversee the close, and produce accurate financial reporting. A key aspect of the role is working across multiple data sources and ensuring clean outputs into QuickBooks.
Alongside this, you’ll help improve processes, enhance reporting, and support the business as it scales, including exposure to board-level outputs.
This is a hands-on role requiring both attention to detail and the ability to operate at a broader level.
Who You Are
A technically strong Controller with experience in a growing environment. Background in insurance, healthcare, or TPA is highly valuable, particularly in understanding transaction flows.
You are detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently. Strong Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks or similar systems are expected.
This role suits someone who enjoys building and improving, rather than operating in a highly structured corporate environment.
Why Consider This?
You’ll join at a key stage of growth with the ability to shape the finance function and work closely with an experienced CFO.
The culture is collaborative and meritocratic, with clear scope for progression. The business offers a fully remote setup, strong benefits (including 100% healthcare coverage), and a salary range of $120k-$140k with flexibility for the right individual.
