Data Project Manager – Digital Transformation (12-Month Contract, Daily Rate)

We are seeking an experienced Data Project Manager with strong change management expertise to support a tech-forward organisation that has recently undergone a significant digital transformation programme. This role requires a confident delivery professional who can lead data-focused initiatives, manage complex stakeholder environments, and drive meaningful business change. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring data initiatives are effectively delivered, adopted, and embedded across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of data-focused projects within a large-scale digital transformation programme
- Manage project scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, and budgets effectively
- Drive change management activities to ensure smooth adoption of new data processes, tools, and systems
- Engage with senior stakeholders across business and technical teams to ensure alignment and buy-in
- Translate business requirements into actionable delivery plans and ensure successful execution
- Develop and implement structured communication and engagement plans
- Identify risks, issues, and opportunities, and proactively propose solutions
- Work closely with data, engineering, and analytics teams to ensure delivery alignment
- Champion best practices in data governance, quality, and operational efficiency
- Take ownership of delivery outcomes and bring forward innovative ideas to improve processes
- Deliver data-focused initiatives such as data platforms, data migration, analytics, BI, or governance programmes
Skills & Experience
- Strong background in data-focused project delivery within transformation environments
- Proven change management experience, ensuring successful adoption of new systems and processes
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leadership
- Ability to operate independently, take initiative, and drive outcomes without heavy direction
- Strong communication, facilitation, and influencing skills
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, delivery-focused mindset
- Experience applying project delivery methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches
- Ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-paced enterprise or regulated environments
- Familiarity with data platforms, cloud technologies, or BI tools
- Formal project management or change management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Prosci) is advantageous
