Oliver James is currently working with a leading life insurance group that is seeking a Deputy Head of Investment Accounting. This is a senior leadership role supporting the Head of Investment Accounting, with responsibility for overseeing complex investment accounting processes and driving transformation initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee investment accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely statutory and US GAAP reporting.

Support finance transformation initiatives focused on modernizing accounting processes, data governance, and reporting.

Collaborate with IT, actuarial, risk, investment, and finance teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution.

Represent the investment accounting function in cross-functional initiatives and governance forums.

Build and develop team capabilities while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA strongly preferred.

10+ years of accounting or audit experience, with significant expertise in insurance investment accounting under US GAAP and statutory reporting.

At least 5 years of management experience leading teams in a complex, regulated environment.

Familiarity with Clearwater and data tools (Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, etc.) preferred.

Demonstrated success in finance transformation or system implementation projects.

Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills with a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
