Exec Director, Corporate Transactions: M&A, JV / Partnerships

Our client is an international Insurance Group offering a diverse range of services across Life Insurance, Pension, Wealth Management and Asset Management. With increasing business activities and a solid growth strategy in place, the Group is now seeking a high-calibre Corporate Transactions professional to join the team in Hong Kong, covering internationally on a mix of inorganic transactions.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Develop inorganic corporate strategies and development plans at group, regional and / or country level.
  • Lead or support the group on strategic development plans on assessing and executing corporate transactions including M&A, strategic investments, partnerships, JV, bancassurance deals.
  • Lead or execute strategic projects related to inorganic growth strategies while taking a proactive role in identifying, sourcing, screening, performing due diligence on potential acquisition targets and partnership opportunities that align with the groups strategic goals in the various regions.
  • Conduct research on market trends, industry insights and competitive landscape, analyzing the impact on the business.
  • Recommend strategic initiatives and articulate ideas into execution priorities and action plans.
  • Work with business units, partnership distribution, group strategy and finance functions on deals execution and transactions
  • Provide support on the implementation of projects and initiatives identified by the management team and business leaders.
  • Perform analysis, financial modelling, valuations, project data gathering.
  • Develop presentations for management, support in strategic planning deliverables and timelines for Management Committees and the Board at Group level.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • An university degree preferably with an MBA degree or CFA qualification
  • Around 15-20 years in Investment Banking FIG M&A and / or in-house M&A / Corporate Development experience
  • Preferred industry coverage from Insurance, Asset Management, Banking, Wealth Management, Insurtech, Financial Services and / or Strategy / Management Consultancies.
  • Strong project management skills in leading and managing inorganic transactions from end to end
  • Ability to articulate and communicate well with stakeholders and management team
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English
