Fund Accountant – Orange County (Onsite)

This role involves full ownership of fund accounting functions and oversight of a third-party administrator. Ideal candidates have 2-5 years of fund accounting or audit experience and a strong grasp of GAAP.
Fund Accountant
A specialized investment management firm based on the beachfront in Orange County is looking for a Fund Accountant to join their lean finance & accounting team. They are experiencing exciting growth with one oversubscribed fund and on track to launch another in the near future.
The Fund Accountant will take ownership of all fund accounting responsibilities including oversight of the 3rd party administrator, providing monthly and quarterly financial reports, assist with waterfall, capital calls, investor queries etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily transaction reporting, reconciliations, and manage cash flows
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal financial policies
- Support month-end close processes, audits, and tax reporting
- Manage fund-level accounting and financial reporting
- Assist in monitoring portfolio performance and generating internal reports
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years fund accounting experience, working with a range of fund structures OR coming from Big 4 (or similar) within in audit/assurance function working on client’s funds
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and partnership/fund accounting principles
- CPA preferred but not required
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with QuickBooks is a plus
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
