Head of Fund Accounting

The Head of Fund Accounting will lead financial operations, reporting, and controls across a diverse set of investment vehicles. This individual will oversee accounting processes, guide a high-performing team, and provide insight to support strategic and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and experience managing complex fund structures.


Key Responsibilities

Fund Oversight

  • Manage accounting, reporting, and financial operations for multiple fund types, including commingled, single-investor, and managed account structures.

  • Oversee complex entities such as master-feeder arrangements, offshore blockers, and SPVs.

  • Review quarterly and annual financial statements for accuracy and compliance with GAAP and fund governing documents.

  • Oversee capital activity including calls, distributions, and transfers, ensuring precise investor allocations.

  • Monitor fund credit facilities and analyze the impact on liquidity, IRR, and fees.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Review partner allocations, capital accounts, and carried interest calculations.

  • Support investor communications and reporting in collaboration with Investor Relations.

  • Provide performance and expense analysis for management, highlighting key financial trends and liquidity metrics.

Leadership & Improvement

  • Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering collaboration and accountability.

  • Drive process improvements, automation, and adoption of best practices across fund operations.

  • Support strategic initiatives including new fund launches, fee modeling, and treasury planning.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.

  • 9+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally in investment management or public accounting.

  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, fund accounting, and partnership structures.

  • Experience with complex fund vehicles such as master-feeder, blockers, SPVs, and co-investments.

  • Familiarity with fund credit facilities, management fees, and carried interest mechanics.

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and cross-functional relationships.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
