Location: Cork, Ireland

Contract: 12-month rolling

Working arrangement: Hybrid – 4 days on site

Role Overview

The IT Infrastructure & Compute Analyst plays a critical role within the IT team, ensuring the stability, security, and compliance of the compute environment across the Cork campus.

The position requires strong technical expertise in compute and infrastructure operations, vendor management, and security compliance, with a particular focus on supporting manufacturing systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain operational performance, stability, and resilience of the compute environment across the campus.
  • Ensure security and compliance by managing patching schedules, security tools (e.g., SEP, BigFix), and coordinating disaster recovery testing.
  • Support global IT security initiatives and complete required global controls testing.
  • Partner with managed services vendors to support compute, SQL, and manufacturing systems environments.
  • Track and report compute spend; work closely with finance and management on budget forecasting and spend trends.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including renegotiating contracts, scoping new solutions, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams (architecture, network, workplace services, incident/change management) and business stakeholders to deliver reliable services.
  • Participate in local and global IT projects related to compute, network, and security.
  • Communicate effectively with IT and business stakeholders, promoting IT best practices.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure Operations.
  • Strong technical expertise across Compute, Network, and Security technologies.
  • Degree/Master’s in Computer Science
  • Certifications in Microsoft Windows OS, MS SQL, VMware, Cisco, and Azure/Cloud are desirable
  • Strong background in vendor and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across all organisational levels.
  • Experience in project and systems integration, ideally within a manufacturing or OT environment.
  • Knowledge of enterprise tools and technologies would be an advantage, such as: SAN storage, backup appliances (Rubrik, Veritas), VMware ESXi, Cisco ISE, Active Directory, Group Policy, Citrix/RDS, Symantec, WSUS, BigFix, ServiceNow.
  • Awareness of IT/OT governance strategies and business processes (e.g., change control, security assessments).
