Marine Claims Consultant

Job Title: Claims Consultant – Commercial Marine Insurance
Location: Remote (with occasional office visits)
Job Type: Full-Time

General Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Claims Consultant to join our team. This position is responsible for investigating and managing commercial marine claims. The ideal candidate will be proficient in coverage analysis, first and third-party liability investigations, and loss control evaluation. The role may also involve collaboration with litigation management and coordination with both coverage and defense counsel.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve Marine Claims (including MGL, P&I, Hull, Boat Dealers, Contractors, etc.)

  • Support clients in timely reporting of marine claims to their trading partners

  • Handle complex and/or catastrophe-related marine property claims

  • Manage assets to ensure prompt recovery from insurers

  • Assist clients with year-end collateral funding in line with regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in insurance/reinsurance

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience; Property and Marine GL experience preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external clients

  • Must hold or be able to obtain required state adjuster licenses

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace tools
