As a paralegal, you will work closely with the legal department and the executive team to service the company client across multiple functions in various areas of corporate, construction and employment and labor law. You will interact with the legal department, executive team, staff, and outside vendors in a team setting while conducting yourself in the image of the company by maintaining the highest degree in integrity, ethics, and service.
Essential Duties:
- Provide comprehensive support to the legal department and the executive team relating to legal and executive functions.
- Provides Legal administrative assistance.
- Draft, proofread, and finalize all legal documents, including correspondence, litigation, commercial contracts, privacy and construction related documents.
- Communicates with Attorneys/Vendors/Experts and/or other stakeholders.
- Reviews Commercial Contracts.
- Assist legal department and executive team in preparation for presentations, meetings, by organizing documents, exhibits and digesting relevant information and materials.
- Maintains and manages legal department calendar using the appropriate software, including logging/tracking all deadlines, appointments, and meetings.
- Proofread documents for accuracy, grammar, formatting, and consistency.
- Prioritizes and multitasks assigned duties in a fast pace environment to ensure timely completion.
Skills/knowledge requirements
- Strong computer proficiency, especially Microsoft suite experience, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
- Strong understanding of corporate, construction, and employment and labor law terminology.
- Experience in all phases of litigation and discovery/trial preparation. Experience managing document intensive matters.
- Must have strong organizational skills and ability to multitask, be detail oriented, and have excellent communication skills.
- Ability to learn internal firm related technologies and software, manage group collaboration sites, calendar sites and contribute to improving functionality of legal department and executive team.
- Ability to work well under pressure and remain flexible with changing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and executive team.
Education/experience requirements:
- You have 5 to 10 years paralegal experience with a large law firm or within an in-house legal department environment.
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Paralegal certificate a plus.
