Reinsurance Finance Manager (SOX & Controls Focus) – Remote
We’re partnering with a highly innovative, tech-enabled insurance platform to hire a Reinsurance Finance Manager into their growing Financial Controls / MAR function. This is a high-impact, fully remote opportunity sitting at the heart of reinsurance finance, with a heavy emphasis on SOX, controls design, and audit ownership.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to move beyond pure reporting and take real ownership of a best-in-class reinsurance controls environment within a fast-scaling, globally connected business.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and enhance the Reinsurance SOX framework, including design, documentation, and ongoing optimization of controls
- Lead SOX control testing and analysis, identifying gaps and driving remediation
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits, coordinating all requests and documentation
- Partner closely with internal audit and external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process
- Maintain and continuously improve reinsurance policies, documentation, and process flowcharts
- Drive process improvements and controls automation, supporting system implementations and target operating model initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally to embed best practices in financial controls and reinsurance operations
- Provide subject matter expertise on controls and governance to internal stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in SOX controls (design, implementation, and testing) within insurance or reinsurance
- Background in reinsurance finance, financial controls, or audit (internal/external)
- Knowledge of US GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles
- CPA or equivalent qualification preferred
- Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a focus on process improvement
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work cross-functionally
