Senior Accountant – Insurance
📍 Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
I’m currently partnered with a well-established insurance carrier in the Chicago area looking to bring on a Senior Accountant to support their growing finance team.
This is a strong opportunity for someone coming out of public accounting or with prior insurance/financial services experience who’s looking to step into a high-visibility role with exposure to leadership and business operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Support month-end and quarter-end close processes

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements

Assist with GAAP and statutory reporting

Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, operations, and audit teams

Contribute to process improvement initiatives and ongoing system enhancements

Support internal and external audit requests
What They’re Looking For:
-
3-6+ years of accounting experience (public accounting + industry a plus)

Exposure to insurance, financial services, or similar regulated industry preferred
-
Strong understanding of GAAP (statutory experience is a plus)
-
CPA or progress toward CPA highly preferred
-
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
